Dear General,

Thank you for your letter. I had hoped that matters would calm down somewhat between our peoples and we would be able to discuss things more rationally than in the heat of the moment, but I was incorrect. I apologise sincerely for my error of judgement and the consequent delay in replying to you. Furthermore, it was impolite of me not even to have acknowledged your letter, and for this I must also beg your pardon.

I would be grateful if you could spare some time to discuss matters with me over a few ales. Commander Soulshadow informed me of the regrettable loss of your tavern in Strongholt, so perhaps I could suggest meeting in the Trinsic Rose? Their ale is very good, though no doubt not up to the standard of Kaldorian brewers. Gwen Irima of the elves also wishes to become acquainted with you; despite both being members of the Trinsic Council, you have not yet met. If, however, you prefer a different venue, please let me know.

Please let me know what time and date would be best for you to meet. I will do my utmost to ensure my availablility.
