Spell Challenging shields

Hi there i'm wondering if someone can help me out with this now i'm really in the middle of making my mage for the guild now i want to give him parry for his 6th skill but are the mage's aloud to wear spell challenging shield so they can cast and block for i'm sure spell challenging shields can now be crafted? so surely would fit in with rp............

if a rppvp mage does not have parry what would be an other good skill to help him out in battle hiding perhaps?

resist is a bit naff cause of protect being used so much......id suggest poisoning too and just have very very high wrestling ^^
