| Senior Member | A hard decision Victor woke up with a start. He rubbed his brow wearily as he sat up in his bed. He'd slept bad ever since he started to hear the worrying rumours of the withdrawal of the Kaldor Army in Britannia. Ever since leaving the Duchy ranks for the army in green, he'd felt happy. Happier than in a very long time, in fact. while he felt a pang of sadness about the fact that the citizens of Trinsic treated him like a leper since resigning, he could not remember ever being in a place more suited for him. Victor had spent the past few days fervently looking for Cal, to get see if the rumours were true or not. The more he looked and the more he heard of the rumours, he started to lose hope. The whispers were too detailed. He kept looking, although he felt he already knew the answer to the difficult question he knew he had to ask. He got out of bed and went straight to Stronghold. He didn't care for breakfast or his usual morning exercise. Finding the Commander was too important. As he entered Strongholt, he slowed his pace down and took in every sight of his new home. It was quite obviously not as beautiful as Trinsic, with it's golden walls, but it had a harsh beauty. He enjoyed being in the threathening environment of the straight lines and calculated design of the stronghold that housed the Army of Kaldor. As he stood and gazed up at the Keep, he heard faint footsteps behind him. He recognized the swagger of Cal, and felt his stomach jump a little. He was apprehensive about actually asking, or rather about actually knowing the fate of the garrison that he had learned to love. "Victor.", he heard her say behind him. He sighed and turned around, facing his Commander. He wondered what would happen to him now. It was a strange feeling to think that Cal might leave Britannia. She was the one thing that had been constant in his adult life. Ever since becoming a guard in Trinsic, she had been around. He respected her more than any person in the world, and almost since day one a strange friendship had grown between them. He had always known that they would eventually be enemies, but cherished their friendship highly despite that. They were both professional soldiers, and knew that orders were orders, and felt confident that their friendship could persist through even war, and time had proven it to be true. Victor braced himself, and asked directly, without even a hello. "Is it true?", her expression showed quite clearly that it was. They spoke briefly about the future, and whether he would remain in Britannia or follow Kaldor back to their home land, Gorimdor. It was not an easy decision to make, but with a promise to keep serving under Cal it seemed to be a wise choice. He didn't have much to stay for in Britannia, and he knew that he could not return to a different job after being in the army. Victor had a hard decision to make.
