Vanguard for Raul

Hey buddy as promised here is a pic of Vanguard Beta, first pic is on high performance which I am currently playing on, second is high quality which I cant play on, maybe after beta I can tweak the settings to make it abit more appealing.

Quite nice, but not really up to EQ2 standards is it matey. I know its a beta, but even EQ2 in beta was of a higher standard.

But the most important aspects to me are playability and customisation. Are the toons customisable as much as in SWG and EQ2? Or are they all essentially the same like UO and WoW? Items and armour too, are they all essentially the same or are there many different types, that allow players to look unique?

i like the look of the look of the buildings and the atmosphere of the pictures seems good.

i think telsia was very into this MMO, she'd been following it for a long time.

when telsia and i were going through our phase of trying to start a guild together she showed me this and i was very impressed with the visuals.

its probably best to look on the website for nicer screen shots. one thing that impressed me more than any other game was the steeds. the barded steeds looked very good! probably worth a peek if you're really that interested raul.

i'm just sorry that telsia and i never got anything together mainly my fault tbh, just never had the time and still don't really. but i was always saying i would soon.. but never did. she probably got pissed off in the end.

Have you pre-ordered it then? Did you use a proxy to sign up? or was it thru eurogamer?

I am quite enjoying the little time that I have played it, its not quite up to EQ2 standards just yet, give it 6-12 months and maybe. Very promosing tho!

As for customization, I am pretty sure there are quite a few options and models, I rushed my char so didnt look too closely, I do know that not all the models are currently in the game as of yet.

As for the interface, it is very WoW ish, even some of the icons are near enough the same, which is a good thing as its pretty easy to pick up.

Weird thing happened today, a few days ago before I started beta in Vanguard I pre-ordered it from game, then I cancelled it when I did it direct-2-drive. Today, I recieved a pre-order box from game for Vanguards, has anyone else recieved this?

Kaelith you really should get into EQ2 if you like horses, they have recently revamped them and the new barded ones are so lush matey!

They don't look as good as the barded steeds in vanguard

I've only looked on the website, but there is a sweet one on there. the plated barded looks very ornate.

nah it's not that bad. I expect that it will run just nicely in the final version.
I think this is a DX10 screenshot though, because Conan is a DX10 showcase game. But it could just be a DX9 shot with bloom on. Not sure.

But then again you really want to play Conan because it has a really unique real time combat system, with combos, hitting multiple enemies with a sword stroke, archery sniping and what not.
