That Hattrick game looks quite intresting, I used to do play a similar game when I was younger but it was done through the post.

I think I will sign up for it.

Probably one of the reasons we keep the UO accounts open, or as in my case, we let them close for one month, reopen them, etc. is the house decay system.
Also, that UO (at least for me) was my first MMORPG. And it is impossible to recapture the 'events' that a newbie to MMORPGs feels when he enters this world. Then we are always trying to recapture it in other games, but it is not the same.

About hattrick: I played it 2-3 years ago. First year I was 3rd, playing regularly, learning. Second year I made the team the first day, and never logged back in until I got the "your account will be deleted message" many games later. End result... 3rd! The 3rd year I was 3rd too doing NOTHING AT ALL. Then I decided the game was worthless, at least for me. I must say I'm not into soccer. I know the results of the games, which is impossible not to in Spain, but that's it. When we go to a pub and they have a game on TV, my friends are happy with me, as I'm the one who takes the seat with the back to the TV...

Darkfall, that shows promise!

Age of Conan: waiting for it! But will need new computer. With Vista (Argh!!!)

True, i still log in to UO from time to time. I would call me an "End game" player after 9 years of playing now, and there is not much left to do, to accomplish or explore. I do peerless hunts with other ppl sometimes though. Well i dont have hundreds of millions but i got most stuff i ever wanted and my characters are very well skilled and equipped out. I guess if they released new exciting content i'd play much more again (hoped for Stygian Abyss). After all i think the KR client was a good step, but they are taking much too long to address its bugs and missing features. It might get superior to 2D with the next 2-3 major updates though.

Yeah, Darkfall will rock if they can keep their promises.
AoC got another 2 month delay now though

They didnt anounce any new beta date for darkfall, cause it has been delayed several times over the last 3 years or somewhat . It should be released this year thats all they are willing to tell atm.

Well, AoC and Darkfall, lets hope the delays are for the best.

It is very difficult to recover from a bad launch (although Funcom already did that once, or twice, with Anarchy Online!). Vanguard, and to a lesser extent, Tabula Rasa, come to mind. Both games I (and many others) had great expectations for, then played beta, and... never played again.

I do have now a Station Pass, so, once my SWG mania decreases a bit, I'll give a try to EQII (liked the trial, but SWG was more different) and VG. I was in VG beta, and liked it a lot. Yes, bugged, not much content, etc. But, somehow, I never converted into a real player.

My post was about how when a game gets a bad launch, it trails trying to recover, whatever they do. Anarchy Online did pull it, and they are now getting a new graphics engine! (I think heavily based on Age of Conan!!)

That's my wonder too...

The free model has made numbers go up in AO (logical, but it seems they wheren't really expecting it!). The new engine looks great!

Hello everyone, thought I'd pop in and say hi. Hope you're all doing well! I've been pulled into the army, which is the main reason I haven't been much about lately. I've also stopped subscribing to UO. I simply don't have time to play anymore. But good to see at least some of you are keeping the forums real! =)

Take care everyone!
