Scientology

about 45 minutes ago my story begins travelling the bbc news site as I do most evenings about this time (no TV if I don't buy a paper this is how I figure out whats going on). I discover the bbc's account of Mr John Sweeney's outburst at a Scientology spokes person. From here I read up on other BBC articles on the subject, before moving onto youtube seeing the actual video myself, reading the comments (note to self: Youtube posters are generally fucking idiots) before moving onto the BBCpanorama-exposed.org website and then onto wikipedia (wikipedia is wikid - see what I did there?). From this I have come to the following conclusions:

  • Scientology is a Cult, you can call a dick a "john" but in the end its still a dick and scientology is a cult.
  • Why has a "religion" notorious for threatening to sue Google inorder to get websites taken down that criticise it, and who has gone to other great lengths to remove material on them from the web, suddenly published an interview (even then only 45 seconds of film), if not to attempt to bring the documentry into disrepute.
  • If the BBCpanorama-exposed.org website is not run by a "scientologist" I'll run naked through parliament square.
  • John Sweeney is an idiot, why oh why would you give them this sort of ammunition, yes I understand you'd just seen an exhibition showing child torture amongst others, but you're supposed to be a seasoned investigative journalist.
  • Tom Cruise is a midget I dislike even more so then before, I hope he and David Beckham will be very happy together.

I enclose all websites I visited on this voyage of discovery to enable those not already familiar with this "religion" to form their own opinions.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/new...tm?bw=bb&mp=wm (and both links under the related part of this one)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology - This is just the front page of an entire section devoted to it.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/new...tm?bw=bb&mp=wm - and the final documentry that started it all aired last night

DISCUSS!

Apparently, from what I've heard, the Scientology guy had been basically stalking him for the entirety of the documentary. Digging up dirt, and trying to twist everything around.
I'm going to watch the full documentary at some point soon.

It is indeed a Scientology site. In the top right hand corner it says Freedom. This is also the name of their own news magazine which they send to politicians and celebrities addressing issues that concern the Church of Scientology. also it says this at the bottom of the page: © 1996-2007 Church of Scientology International. All Rights Reserved.
For Trademark Information on Scientology Services.

I agree with your summary of John Sweeney, he is indeed an idiot.

Well gathered info mate, all laid out nicely for me to peruse!

I watched it last night when it was on and to be fair that outburst seemed to be quite reasonable considering the fact he was followed everywhere and the film crew had to hide in the toilet when doing interviews at the Scientology building to get away from being filmed by them.

Indeed, not to mention the fact that they were stalked during breakfast with that guy watching them alllll the time. That said, he still shouldn't have, and he admits that himself. I'm more surprised he was able to keep his voice down for as long as he did, that would have tested even my own ability to keep my cool :/

I've just sat and watched through the whole of the BBC Panorama Exposed. What a complete load of tripe. Whilst yes, pretty much all reports cut and edit to show their views alone, this one really takes the cake.

"... and when asked in that case why he kept making the accusation, Sweeney's reaction was unexpected to say the least" *John shouting*.

Yes, because he clearly just suddenly burst out like that with absolutely no provocation, goading, hounding, or anything at all by Tommy and his fellow members of Scientology.

Let us of course not forget that psychiatrists caused the Holocaust, and 9/11. I mean, the "Psychiatry: An Industry of Death" museum surely can't be anything but a museum of complete truth...
Oh wait, I'm obviously a puppet of the evil Psychiatric paymasters

"Can we trust the BBC?"
I trust them a hell of a lot more than I can throw Scientology.

Yup the BBC panorama exposed thing is on youtube, amazing the bullshit to be honest.

If you go on their website, they have alittle flash box saying things like

"where honest being's can live together in harmony"

......

I'm pretty patriotic, so I bulk at the idea that the BRITISH Broadcasting Corporation cannot be trusted, mayhaps I'm biased though.

All of 'em add a certain amount of bullshit to thier reports and hide some things to make them look better.

The BBC may show alot of the truth in thier documentaries but the bad stuff always gives better rating's than any good stuff in progs like panorama.

Just the same way all Cults, belief systems and religions are full of alot of crap to make themselves look good.

The only True faith is faith in yeself...not one of the other so called 'faiths' (in my opinion) allows anyone to have faith in themselves, they dictate having faith in others (be it a diety or some self proclaimed leader's opinion).

Well really, who can take a religion invented by a bad science fiction writer seriously? Apart from gullible Americans, of course.

The BBC isn't to be trusted.

But Scientology is such a rediculous phenominon it makes me upset I didn't think of the concept and market it. Reckon Mushroomology will take on in the 2020's?

Scientology scares all fuck out of me. The bastards have a secret police force and a small fleet run by, basically, contractual, brainwashed slaves.

And the founder stated that if one wants to make a million, one should invent a religion.

I despair for the world sometimes.

I figure that the Scientologists will probably partner with the Raelians soon to draft a contract to clone Tom Cruise! He'd probably be easier to clone than a mouse...LOL
