It's clever and absorbing and I thoroughly enjoyed it although my other half wasn't sure. However, I'd recommend it without hesitation. Just buy a BIG tub of popcorn as it's 2 hrs 10 (plus adverts/trailers).

Something though seemed to nag at my mind, like they'd missed a trick somewhere, or that something wasn't quite as it could have been - still a good movie, but part of me was expecting something more spectacular at the end

I really want to see this one, glad to know its not total trash!

The ending is fine, actually. There are basically two twists. One is very obvious (it's to do with the hats you see right at the beginning), and I figured out what was going on as soon as the stuff with the hats happened.
The other twist I didn't see, though other people did (and normally I see twists a mile off, like in Shattered).
But it's enjoyable stuff.
