Sports Personality of the Year

So we have

Equestrian star Zara Phillips,
golfer Darren Clarke,
tennis player Andy Murray
boxers Joe Calzaghe and Ricky Hatton
Cyclist Nicole Cooke,
cricketer Monty Panesar,
gymnast Beth Tweddle,
darts champion Phil Taylor
and Formula One's Jenson Button

HAHAHA, Button? The man wins one race when he should have won loads?! Monty? not exactly done a great deal
Andy Murray? Who is a grade A cock
A Darts player?!

My vote goes for Clarke or Tweddle

(But I bet Murray wins it...)

I want to vote for Steven Gerrard whose greatness is so extreme it resonates into the future and therefore is eligible for Sports thingie of the Year, ever year. (clearly, if Rooney can win it, it has nothing to do with personality).

well you wont have SG for much longer - once liverpool get some money they can buy a half decent team and get rid of the current wasters

Zara Philips won the eventing world championship which is no mean feat, but hey, it's exclusively a rich man's sport and she happens to be a princess's daughter so...*claps*

Andy Murray - did OK, but we'll wait until he wins something decent eh?

Button - well quite. Mansell and Hill only got nominated when they almost won the world championship. Which is a bit more than one race.

Phil Taylor - sorry, but big fat men shouldn't win sports titles no matter how good they are at throwing pointy things into round things.

I haven't heard of the cyclist or gymnast - they're both probably excellent, but if I've not heard of 'em, a lot of people won't have heard of 'em and they won't be getting many votes.

Either of the boxers may have a chance.

I'd probably go with Tweddle to be honest, but not exactly the most inspiring roll call up there this year...

It should be Calzaghe, Hatton, Tweddle or Philips tbh.

However I expect Clarke will win it due to a sympathy vote...

Well, his wife did.
And then he won all his games at the Ryder cup, after coming back 6 months later

Seriously though, i now walk to work each day, I should be nominated at least

Ah that's right, it was the snooker player that died.
Well I guess if he did well at the Ryder Cup under those circumstances he deserves a good shot at it.
