ok went for a real one for the first time.

so a lassi got me the tree - found a suitable plant pot and got given a bag of ballast - so far 45 mins spent and succesfully planted tree - all is going well...

got decorations from attic - 15 mins scrabbling around but happy

go to decorate tree - no lights [by now its 915pm frioday night and i want BEER]

children are asleep [some of them]

back up into attic - 15 mins later no lights

go to sleep friday night - tree up but undecorated

sat mornign - back up in the attic - 15 mins later success!

children gf and other children decorate tree while i upgrade an old pc to win xp pro [no hitches there!]

tree looks awesome - general family happiness and christmas cheer.

overall time taken - c2hours

moral - get a real tree and keep your old deocrations safe
