Of course it has to be the long awaited DVD of Severance! Out on January 8th, but available to pre-order now.

So is that based on the small greek army that had to fight its way home through Persia or a seperate event altogether (or just made up)?

Auugh.. 300.. I've been keeping my eye on this for soo many months now. I love the action, The big battles! The arrows!, And the soundtrack!

It's based on the The Battle of Thermopylae. At said battle, 300 Spatans and some greek allies held a pass against a huge Persian army in order to give the rest of the Greeks time to muster.

The Spartans did hold the pass long enough, and although killed to a man (the last few died defending their Kings body) the Persians suffered a rather humiliating setback - one which cost them dearly as the Greek states were fully mobilised by the time the Persians got south.

The film is not at all accurate of course, it's based on a graphic novel by the same name. But it willbe a good film none the less.

Boy will it be a good film! I can't wait to see the famous bit of: "Our arrows will block out the sun" ... You get to see in the trailer the arrows, But I wanna see them come down and like go Thwoop! into someone. It can't be mega accurate can it as it was Zillions and Yoinks years ago! But Awww.. It looks so good! I want it! I want it now!
