You can be a paladin in WoW

Now thats a warrior priest =)

Being a priest is almost more to do with your role playing style and stuff "peace be with you brother" and all that kind of stuff

Well you have the paladins (gimped warrior type in plate, with some healing abilities) - but if you want to be a "battle priest" type I'd go with Druid. Great healers, and leather armor plus bonuses to armor when shapeshifted. My main is a druid and it's a lot of fun to play him. Loved in any raid or party for the heals, a very capable solo class, extremely versatile. Only downside is damage - killing things is slower than with a mage/rogue/warlock. Then again, you have little to no downtime if you use your spells wisely, and you are damned near impossible to kill (good armor, great healing abilities and with the right talents you'll never run out of mana).

paladin or priest are definitly my types of character. i just love plate armour more than life itself, but i also love having good control over my group with healing and buffing.

i spose i'd have to try them out but i suspect my love of plate armour would fade in favour of the more interesting priest.

but then i love low fantasy (as already established many times hehe) and a classic human warrior or normal orc warrior would be amazing too.

i think a problem with fantasy MMOs is that they make warriors out to be too boring, or have silly abilities, when really the skill of being a warrior is weilding your weapon effectively. but it's hard to mix twitch and ability fighting styles :/

mount and blade is awesome for a bit of realistic sword fighting in mass battles, but would be so hard to mix witht spells and fantasy without soaking up insane amounts of computing power!

First time through Kaelith you would probably like the quest system. There are a few moments when you have to kill named individuals (especially in dungeons) but the intro builds you into the game well. You start as a non-ranked new recruit and whoever your with talks you through a few quests as a new recruit before sending you out to the wider world. So on one hand everyone is doing the same quests, on the otherhand it feels pretty immersive and cool.

It does vary though. If I see the NE starting area (given its the same from the start to Ashenvale, theres only so many levels of purple forest I can take damn it!) again I think I will shoot myself.

The undead (forsaken if your being picky) starting area however does (well, did) feel very cool. Infact I tend to think the horde have better starting areas atleast IC-wise. The Orc one is kind of ugly (go orange rock go), but the quests and idea is nice enough, only the human one really matches it for Alliance.. then again I havn't played the expac.. might do though.

Although, if your running at speed your only ever really in the starting area for what, 2-6 hours tops? Alliance probably have nicer second areas.. although I always liked the Barrens. The stupid *don't do this at 3 in the morning if you havn't had much sleep or you will think your having some weird trip* caverns is inferior to deadmines though. But then Shadowfang Keep vs Stockades? Its not even funny.

i will probably take you up on that

i haven't spoilt myself in a while.. or at least i can't remember the last time i did hehe.

but i might just wait till i've actualyl bought another gig of ram and know i've got a whole weekend free, which will probably be in a few weeks. and then i'll see how much the expansion costs and get that. i take it i won't need the original game? online games don't normally require you to have the original game to hop on.

i have guest passes for the expansion and the orig game - best to try out the orig game i reckon as Bloodelves are Gay - as the man at the top of the thread mentioned.

you do need the orig game to use the expansion - and the box comes with 30 days free play - which is easily enough to see if you like it or not =)

pfft rpers - ORC SMASH!

heh

WoW's questing system is simple enough for people like me to enjoy it while having enough effort put into it such that people with attention spans longer than 3 seconds can also enjoy them

personally i like the quests involving Thrall (the Orc leader) as he was my favourite character in WC3 and they've added a new quest line in TBC filling in more about Thrall

i like the way they've changed the reputation system it's a lot easier to gain rep now and seems to have more benefits (not just uber gear)

though i am getting annoyed that every bit of plate i find seems to have int on it - damn paladins

Think I have a couple of TBC guest passes around here too (bought one copy for me and one for my son). If anyone's interested let me know. As for installing more RAM, that's probably not necessary. Say what you want about Blizzard but damn those guys know how to make games run smoothly on crap hardware. My son usually borrows an old IBM laptop I have with 512M RAM and a pathetic excuse for a graphics card, and WoW runs like a charm.

1G of ram is recommended, but anything beyond that won't have much impact - in my experience anyway.

i have 512 ram and have been wanting more ram for ages anyway, so might as well get it before trying a free trial of this so it runs as well as i'm going to get it i have a good graphics card to, so it should make games a lot better in general.

Not a CD key - a game key, or, say, a 10 day trial key?
