Measure your Cynicism

Although im pretty sure everyone here is at least a 4 or 5

Theres an easy way to tell your level of cynicsm using the news

Level 1: Pulling troops out of Iraq because the job is done

level 2: Pulling troops out because we wont acheive anything

Level 3: Pulling troops out so that there is good news to hide the bad news that we may be going to invade Iraq

Level 4: pulling troops out of Iraq because were going to need them when we do invade Iraq

Level 5: They have always been planning to invade Iran and this pullout has always been planned for this time

Im cynical because most of those things dont make sense -

"Level 3: Pulling troops out so that there is good news to hide the bad news that we may be going to invade Iraq [do you mean Iran here?]

Level 4: pulling troops out of Iraq because were going to need them when we do invade Iraq [do you mean Iran here?]

Level 5: They have always been planning to invade Iran and this pullout has always been planned for this time"

Or unless this is a real test of cynicism and they are going to leave Iraq in order to re-invade them again just for fun!

=)

"A'ight, Saddam's been removed, yer set, lets go lads!"
"Hai, we're back to take the oil this time!"

Level 6: The factions within Iraq seem pre-destined to have a civil war at some point, the infrastructure is in a shambles still for a lot of iraq, so why not pull out troops now, wait for civil war to kill off anyone with guns/use up all the bullets, then re-invade and continue re-building - rather than wait till everything is fixed and shiney then let them have a civil war?

I say split the country in 3 - shiite, sunni and kurd parts. Then atlas salesmen all over the world will rejoice. When that's all done the three new countries will naturally go to war, but then it won't be a civil war anymore! Problem solved.

I should go into international politics really.

Or then there's always Level 7: Pull troops out of Iraq because we're undermanned in Afghanistan, and it's turned nastier there than Iraq is, or Level 8: Pull the troops out of Iraq because morale is so low there we're losing men to 1(UK) Civ. Div. faster than we can get new recruits through basic training.

Meh Elise, I blame the other Nato fellas who are all like "But our soldiers can't be expected to FIGHT!" for that kind of statistic. Even the Canadians got more balls than the rest of Europa in that regard.
