Am I the only one who's a bit "meh..." about the whole thing? Maybe I've just had one too many RTS games lately.

We've had a bit too many of them thrown in our faces lately, atleast that's how I feel about it.
Still looking forward to this one though

been ages since i played starcraft, not sure i even have a copy anymore, can't say i'm a huge fan, but blizzard does have a good record with RTS's so i'll probably give it a look

Yeah don't get me wrong, I like Blizzard and played Starcraft a lot... But lately there's been a lot of RTS games, even the big franchises like C&C. Still, no release date yet so that could have worn off by the time they get it out the door.

But if they do to Starcraft what they did with the Warcraft series, I most definitely won't be buying it. Warcraft III was a big disappointment, what with the quasi-RPG elements like Heroes and shops and crap. But I'm betting they won't dare touch the original gameplay mechanics of Starcraft what with the almost religious following SC has in southeast Asia. Hell, South Korea might declare war on them or something.

I'm waiting for Diablo news. Diablo 2 is definitely one of my fave games ever and it's about time they did something with it.

meh i liked warcraft 3, it rates up there as one of the top two or three rts's, plus it set the scene for WoW, which is probably the best mmorpg (not that i play anymore)

Truth! Also, rt/tb tactical games, damnit I'm still replaying the Jagged Alliance and Fallout series. Might have to start on KOTOR again too, even though I was a bit let down by the mess that was KOTOR2.

Well I've just picked up Starcraft 1 and the expansion as I've never played it. Let's see what all the fuss is about!

Me too! Working my way through JA 2 in two different games at the moment - 1 at work on lunch times and one at home with a mate where we split the team . Despite having the original I've bought it again as the Gold Edition so I could mod it to v1.13 where theres about 100 times more different types of guns and options.

Just bought the Fallout 1 & 2 Pack from Amazon also as I never played them first time around.

I think they should do World of Starcraft instead, a bit like PlanetSide, but with Blizzard quality.

Meh, not too fussed on it at all myself either. Starcraft was trumped by the awesomeness of Total Annihilation then, and Starcraft II probably won't surpass Supreme Commander (Total Annihilation's spiritual sequel) for sheer hotness either unless they come out with something seriously, obscenely fantastic.
