Yeah so they are. Got a week off and already bored of everything, back in my day you could play some game that came on one floppy for weeks. Bah to all the devs in the world at your rubbishness.

I was trying to reinstall one of my favourite games ever a few days ago - System Shock 2 - but it doesn't seem to work with XP or something.

SS2 is classic - seem to recall playing through it on XP not long ago though, should work (check if there are any patches)

found my old sinclar spectrum 48k a few weeks back - had a bunch of tapes with it as well - though i seem to have lost the tape player

heh was my first computer, can still remember wasting hours waiting for it to load up games only for it to crash as soon as it started.

You can make SS2 work in XP. The copy protection is not XP compatable thought, so you will need to crack the game (which i'm sure that noone here knows anything about *nods nods*)

Privateer, RailRoad Tycoon, Theme Hospital

I've just bought a whole load of old ID games on Steam... ie Doom, Doom 2, Wolfenstein 3D etc - and it works nicely under Vista (with thanks to DOSBox)
