What a dissapointment it has been! such lacklustre performances from all the games so far, wouldn't say it was quite as bad as the womens football (No offence women!) but I just put on the Mali v Benin game and there is no flood-lighting. Not good, not good at all

Long ball to Crouch?

I dont understand Liverpool, so many other clubs these days are having thier supports accused of being over ambitious with delusions of grandeur over winning something, yet Liverpool realistically should be challenging for the title, but yet again are out of the race by January!

*Does a little dance* Still fourth!

And yeah, beginning of the season, looking at Liverpools squad with the likes of Torres, I'd expect at least one trophy. But things look different now. I still feel Everton are in with an outside shot of reaching the league cup finals, and maybe even the UEFA cup. But who knows?

I personally think like Aresenal with Henry, Liverpool should sell Steven Gerrard *Gasp! Surely not!!* as I think he is controlling the play too much. Yes he is a very good footballer, however it always makes it difficult for other players to be good aswell when they have to consider somebody else every time they make a decision if you get what I mean, yes he is brilliant in his own right and so is Torres (even if he has been slightly off colour in the last few matches) - but they are the only 2 players who ever really look able to score, it's unbalanced... Anyway the amount of money Gerrard could sell for at the moment is insane, hell Gillet and Hicks could re-finance their loan and perhaps invest in another hockey team with all that money! Unfortunately though I don't think even they could justify selling Gerrard to the supporters without fear of the fans setting fire to things and uhh... making more banners, I expect though he will be at Liverpool as long as he can kick a football.
Liverpool could still be bought out by Dubai International I think, and become another unlimited funds club. Then maybe just maybe they can challenge for the Premier League title again!

I don't think Liverpool owners could ever sell Gerrard, there would be outrage

heh I get cable free with my phone line but pay for the satellite - Nova, a Greek station which even with sports channels costs less than it would to pay for Sky Sports and Setanta.

Sorry went a little off topic, back to the African Cup it appears that 2 teams could actually be bothered to play today with a reasonably exciting Egypt v Cameroon game (on cut grass too!) coming out at 4-2 for an Egypt win. Hopefully this will set a standard for the games to come and might make the tournament worth watching afterall!
