Well this week, I've mostly been reading "Fox in Socks" by Dr Seuss, and "We're going on a bear hunt" by er... someone else.

I am addicted to reading horror.. so I would recommend Anne Rice's first 3 in the original vampire series, interview with the vampire, vampire lestat and queen of the damned, I think. you probably read and seen the first though. I guess it's like recommending lotr, everyone has done it.
H.P. Lovecraft never ceases to amaze me, so young, so talented.
If not horror, then.. oh I don't know.. Gilgamesj ?

Was aiming for the kick-in-the-nuts list, but I'll settle for that

Not really related to sci-fi or fantasy:

Invisible Monsters, by Chuck Palahniuk (Also Fight Club by the same author. The book really kicks ass)
On the Road, by Jack Kerouac (a classic book! Very good.)

On the subject of sci-fi, Arthur C. Clarke has written a really cool book called The Light of Other Days

The nights dawn trilogy, by Peter F Hamilton, that will give you the danger & excitement that you crave.

The illuminatus trilogy, by Robert Anton Wilson & Robert Shea. Hard to explain exactly what its about.. but its a greate trilogy. If you like that kind of books, the schrödingers cat trilogy & masks of the iluminati (by Robert Anton Wilson) might be worth looking into.
