Are they any good now the novelty has worn off or has everyone got bored cause i really want one but it a choice between that or a ps2 (see older posts about evil child breaking mine) I have a fair few games for the ps2 which i still havent completed yet and its much cheaper but the wii is all shiny and new what do you say?

Well, if you have a lot of PS2 games, that you want to play, i would recomend buying one of those.

The Wii is still fun thought. Althought there is a shortage of good games, a handfull of interesting ones are on their way (smash bros, Metroid prime 3, fire emblem). And wii sport is great fun *smiles*

Wii is a great family/party game machine. The main reason I got one is for when people come round where we play all sorts.

I dont hitnk the single player is fantastic, Zelda is the only one i would class as 'outstanding' Although thats not counting Virtual console, which has Mario 64 and such things on it.

Depends on the cost really. Wii + Wii Sports + 2nd controller + Game is likely to set you back £220ish

PS2 = £50ish

In my veiw Wii is definately better and always fun, but it is 4 times the price of something you already have games for.

PS2 hands down

The Wii hasnt got the games yet to justify buying one. The social aspect is good but PS2 with Eye Toy, Singstar, Buzz, and guitar hero whoops its ass at entertaining friends. And that combination is still cheaper than a bog standard wii which you will need to spend another £45 to get a second controller (and another £15 for classic controller if you want to play games on virtual console)
