Looks like I've bought my last EA game... Apparently, Battlefield 2142 will ship with spyware included - tracking your online activities to better serve relevant in-game ads! What utter crap...

ads are the main reason i download rather than watching tv etc

Well I wouldn't mind ads in games so much if

1) They don't break immersion. Toyota ads in Oblivion would kinda suck
2) There's no spyware. Absolutely none what so ever.
3) The game is free, or at least extremely cheap. Hell if I'm paying to watch ads!

So far, EA has managed to break every single one of those (with the possible exception of #1, I haven't seen the ads yet, but have a hard time imagining how they'll do that.)
