I was going to say "except for the ones in Red shirts" but then that doesnt work!

Now all you have to do is beat the Chavs, and I'll be supporting you there as well

Liverpool - Man U final I say, then I shall start listening to people about Prem League being the best in the world

I'd rather go out to Chelsea than have a Man Utd-Liverpool final, but I do honestly believe that's what we'll have. Nightmare.

Who cares?! 22 grown men running around chasing a leather ball as if they were 5 years old and getting paid more than your hard-working blue-collar worker gets for 10 times as many hours of work. And for what? For playing utter shite and screwing up when it can do the most damage and makes everyone look bad, so that a manager can be kicked out for doing a shite job and get even more money for that? In what job do you get money for screwing up, eh?

And of course there's the masses of debilitated fans who figure that watching this crap constitutes a prime pass-time! If you want to enjoy football, get together with your mates and go out on the pitch on your own! It's better for your health, it's better for your wallet and it definitely is better for the rest of us who don't want to read or hear about bloody football everywhere we turn! We don't f***ing care!

This isnt fing communist China sonny Jim!

I am *proud* to know that someone with so few life chances such as Rio Ferdinand can earn more than a top neuro-surgeon!

If more kids turned away from becoming health professionals and became sporting figures we would all live in a fairer society!

So oi Rang! No!

Brilliant game last night.
Erm not quite sure why you are so offended Rangarig by people enjoying a sport on television. People watch television all the time, I don't think watching sport should be compared to not exercising, that seems to me to be a bit silly. I like to watch motorsport and I also enjoy action movies, would I go out in a fast car with a bazooka and tear around the streets shooting people while putting in good laps if the feeling took me?...
No I would just get killed or arrested.
Football of course is not quite so dangerous and it can be fun to play aswell, but really I see nothing wrong in watching people who are the best at what they do, doing what they do best. It is simply a sport and people watch this for entertainment, there ain't nothin' wrong with that.

I was just having a laugh really, though I do find watching footy on the telly plain boring - any other sports too mind you, even the ones I know stuff about.

I am also in favour of fair trade when it comes to any job, really. Reduce ridiculously high salaries and increase incentives and boni - for good playing, for fair playing, for team-spirit, etc. Do we need football players driving bentleys (Beckham)? Hell no! Do we need brain surgeons driving bentleys? Hell no! Should an African farmer be able to afford to drive the same kind of car as an African football super star? Hell yeah!

I never got this argument

The premier League is watched by 100 million plus people around the world, and there are hundreds of millions of pounds at stakes. And the sucess is directly determined by those 11 people running around chasing a little ball.

You can't blame the players, if someone offered me a massive salary for doing something I enjoy
You cant blame the clubs owners who want to recruit the best to keep safe those millions of pounds.
You can't blame the TV companies who pay crazy money to get the rights to show the games as they know theres a world wide market and they can sell it on.
And You can't blame the fans for paying a very small amount each to enjoy something.

So what exactly is the problem?

Should an African farmer be paid the same as a board member of a multinational company?

Yes, why not?
Surely they take these jobs because they are good at what they do and enjoy the work they do? Perhaps they must feed their starving family?
Or do they take it simply because it gives them the maximum profit available to them with the minimum effort... In an ideal world a farmer should earn the same amount as a CEO as they both manage risk. But in the real world when the African farmer suffers a drout and his crops die he goes hungry, wheras the boss of a failing multinational company can screw over his debtors and then just start another company.

Errr anyway I really liked Ryan Babel's goal at the end, it made a great finish to the match.
