| Kind of stupid considering Hitler wanted to exterminate most of the people in that and the surrounding countries. A similar interest in Nazis is happening in Russia though; it might be something to do with the fall of communism, like a rebellion by the younger age groups against such an oppressive regime that they used to follow.

| Not saying it's right or wrong, but if you're going to prohibit something, then it's going to increase the desire for it, on some level. Also, where do you draw a line between the "doll" and a scale miniature? Now, if you could also get an Eva doll, and a Panzer tank or half-track, so they could to to the beach, or whatnot, then that is bad. But, what I see from that "doll" is a model/figure of Hitler, with the ability to dress him in historical significance. How is that massively different to a 1:32 scale Bismarck?

| Of course it is controversial to make figures of Hitler, but do you really think that having a figure of him will cause children to commit genocide or even encourage it? Okay, the parents who buy this are likely to be Nazi believers, but somehow I doubt it would encourage or reaffirm the practice of 'Nazism' in the children or for whoever they are bought. Anyway the idiots who one assumes would purchase this figurine would have already been Nazi's without even having the benefit of an evil doll. Personally I think it wrong to make figures of a man who caused so much suffering to people, many who are still alive today, but the reaction to this i think is disporportionate. What about the Saddam/Osama/Bush etc figurines? Are they not depictions of immoral tyrants? Surely dictating what people can and cannot make as a toy is limiting freedom of expression, no matter how ridiculous it may be and that even in these 'informed times' (maybe a contradiction of terms) of today, there will always be a following for extreme beliefs whether it is allowed or not. It is my of opinion however that the prevention of freedom of speech is that which allows such ideologies to take hold and manifest themselves in the minds of those who become ill-informed as a result of such preventative measures. And so to persecute and censor everything you 'strongly disagree with' is an extremism in itself. I'll go back to posting dubious links now... |
