Short game review: Railroads

Sid Meier does it again

And when i say again, I mean take a game released 20 years ago that was blatently stolen from a board game, make sod all changes to the gameplay, stick a flashy (well in this case not so flashy) graphics engine on it and claim to be a creative genius and watch all the reviewers see how far up his arse they can plant themselves. Infact its worse than that as he doesnt even work on the games anymore he just comes up with the odd idea (and no doubt stops any new features that might make the game more fun because they werent in the board game) and sticks his name in the title. He is the biggest fraud in the industry and should be working for EA so he can just knock off these games once a year. Of course I may be a bit pissed because my company just got bought from me even though I had 100% of the shares, how does that work then? Im the only share holder and I dont get a choice in if I sell or not, its bollocks

You have a company, at the start of the game you own 40% of the shares with 60% free to buy. Once all the shares in a company have been bought in order to buy that company (you gain their railroads and its game over for them) you have to buy out all the shares you dont own in one go. So if you own 70% of another company you have to buy the remaining 30% in one go, if you own 30% its the 70% you have to buy. Stupidly though if you buy all of your own shares you can still be bought out, which is just insane as why would you? and why should it be game over? if your company is bought for $50 million why cant you buy a rival who is priced at $30 million. Its a stupid crappy system
