Sorry to hear about the fridge. I murdered my last one; I was defrosting it and like a prat, used a knife to hack at the Titanic sized iceberg. I heard a loud SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS and realised that I'd stabbed it to death and all the gas was gushing out!
And on another note, my brother is up visiting my mum and once again I have to give up my evening and go round there to rescue the pathetic wimp from my mum's moaning and bitching. Shit!

Well Mister Drunk-Wank (as is his real name, I believe) that caused the 3-car pile up I was in at the start of the year has decided THE NIGHT BEFORE THE HEARING that he'd like to have a ickle 'rethink' about whether he's guilty or not guilty...so now everyone has to reschedule their lives to suit him whilst he ponders just how piss-poor his testimony is against those of the 6-8 witnesses who saw precisely what happened and hence feel that his car should be shoved up his rectal cavity.

You have to wonder about folks with a name like "Drunk-Wank" bound to end up in trouble someday...

Ah.. well... thats because you're probably not throwing up cos you're sick...

throwing up only helps when you've got something nasty in ya stomach that needs to get out..
whereas you're throwing up cos you have something that will be adorable inside ya and won't be coming out for a while yet

That's the kicker with morning sickness, isn't it? You feel queasy and 'orrible, and then you upchuck but you DON'T feel any better because it's not getting rid of anything nasty...it's just because of the hormonal craziness...and no amout of upchucking relieves that sadly. Ginger bickies can help. Or dry crackers. Not much help but...at least you know it WILL bugger off once the hormonal levels even out a bit.

The Alynora Helpful Hint Guide to Throwing Up:
(or rather, how to prevent it or at least make it easier to handle)

As Gwyndolyn has pointed out, ginger is good (as cookies, or otherwise as tea, in food, etc). Dry crackers are good.

But also:
Raspberry tea (good for pregnant women in general)
Peppermint tea
Anise (or fennel) tea (mornings)
Getting up slowly from bed, or eating the cracker before you get out of bed..
Eating bland things, easily digestibles like oatmeal, soup, etc (gets really boring after a while though) but when you have the oogies, it's easier to rid yourself of it...avoiding spicy/greasy meals basically
Eat very small meals frequently
Making sure to rest a bit afterwards.. and drink tea.. slowly...

Or, if it's really really really bad, you can always ask your doctor if it's allowed to take medication for it while you're preggers. My first suggestion would be to see if they have something like "domperidon" (which is an over the counter anti-nausea thing here in NL)

How do I know?
Because unfortunately, while I don't have nasty things, or adorable things in my tummy, I do throw up a hell of a lot. For years now. I sometimes go through bad phases which last a month or so of throwing up ~5x/day. Sheesh, try going to the doctor with that one? "oo let's check if you're pregnant..".. hrmph. They put me through all the tests... I don't have an eating disorder, just a way super sensitive stomach, and sometimes they put me on heavier medication for it when I'm in a bad phase. Otherwise I just use the domperidon now on bad days, and the other advice above for regular days. Oddly... it doesn't hurt so much to throw up anymore... and you know, this makes me grumpy that I still have to put up with this problem and that they can't fix me.. I want my spicy food back! *misses lamb vindaloo, but soooo wouldn't want to have morning sickness on top of the tummy issues*

k, what else makes me grumpy:

we are 2 labs in 2 different countries but technically one group.

my lab has twice the number of people, 4x the amount of work, and barely gets any support from the company despite us all working our asses off

whereas their lab has the fancy degree people, only about 2-3 people and yet they are making it so they no longer do any testing... and that they get all the kudos and promotions and credit ... and all the control...and all the info...all the best projects... etc

while it's us doing a lot of the work. yet we are stuck floundering for support and are blamed for everything bad... so much for equality eh...

I find the best way to fix nausea is a big plate of chips with salt and vinegar. Works every time for me. Either that or egg and chips.

Admittedly not tried it with morning sickness, but one of the things that stops me throwing up is ice lollies.

About 8 years ago I had an ulcer in my bowel that was making me very sick and then aggravated my appendix causing that to swell and eventually have to be removed. In the 16 days it took them to work out what might be wrong, I was just continually vomitting. I was given various injections to try t ostem the nausea but nothing seemed to work. In the end, as my temperature had started to climb too, I tried an ice pop thingy (you know, the frozen drinks in little plastic tubes that seem to have a different name whichever county or country you live in) and found that it helped tremendously.
I actually keep a stock of them in the freezer for emergencies as I tend to have a lot of stomach problems.
