For f***'s sake!
I haven't seen my fella in three weeks. He lives round the corner but works so hard it intereferes with him being able to do anything fun.
Last weekend we were going to go out, see Saw III and have some fun. On Friday my mother had a catastrophic stroke. Weekend cancelled.
So this weekened we were going to go out, see The Prestige, and have some fun. Today Fred's mother is taken ill.
What the hell is wrong with parents? It's like they're deliberately trying to keep us apart!

one of the guys at work has a theory that you should work til you're 50 then have 10 years of fun then that's it - kind of a logan's run thing.

It's their job, apparently. Wait til they "FORBID" you getting married. That's always a laugh. My parents might actually like the guy I'm with currently. Mum always moans that I've been out with some right ones and half of them are weird. But she likes this one because he does things around the house, even though he's out of work which normally gets her back up straight away. He is looking for a job though so not some lazy doleite. Going to be taking him to my uncle's wedding reception next weekend so he can meet the rest of the family and see how he gets on with them. He's not all that used to family's that get on as his tend to have a lot of arguments which leads to fisticuffs. So he was quite amused listening to my parents taking the piss out of each other like they do when they're in a good mood.
