| New Arrival After a few days absence I'm back - and minus my bump! In other words, my husband and I have had a very early Christmas pressie, in form of one adorable little daughter. Robyn Annika was born last Thursday - 16/11 - at 15.04pm, weighing in at a dainty but perfectly formed 2.77kg (6lb something-or-the other for your imperial people). Like with every present, the pleasure's in the unwrapping... (ok in this case I should've said, "pleasure") So in fine tradition I took my time over it and, err, "savoured" every moment of it. 22h of proper labour, not counting some 8h previous that I thought at the time were labour pains but in hindsight & by comparison were bloody laughable. At least I got to know quite a lot of the hospital staff *grins* and damn nice people they were too. The end result however made every last minute worthwhile. For those wanting piccies, you'll find a few here - taken literally minutes after the birth. I'm not wearing that mile-wide grin for no reason.... being handed your newborn baby makes any amount of blood, sweat & tears worthwhile.

| congratulations to you ! as you said all the hard work is well worth it and nothing can ever describe the feeling of holding your child for the first time  enjoy every moment of your lovely new daughter.

| I have to say my most recent came out in somethign of a rush - two hours start to finish - BANG! -luckily I was at the top end this time. But theres nothign like holding/seeing that baby for the first time. Each time I see mine I burst into tears and blub like Jan Leeming! ANyhow congrats again and big love to you all

| Aye. The first normally takes the longest! I was in labour with my first for 27 hours!!!  but with my second I slept through the first part because I had really strong braxton hicks and had got used to the pain! Finally woke up when my waters went and within an hour baby was there! Amazing how every birth is different, just like everý child is unique. | ||||||||
