I understand the point Klion. Yes, the relationship between use of racist words or actions and actually being a racist is not 1:1.

But... the correlation between is persuasive.

I cannot, which 100% confidence say that a person using racist language and endorsing racist ideas is *definitely* racist. There may be something I'm not seeing, and yes I should keep my mind open to the idea that there are extenuating circumstances.

But until that extenuating evidence comes in, I'll have to apply Occam's razor, and say that, the person using racist language to expound racist views is probably racist.

I absolutley hate people who show ignorant intolerance for a system of beliefs which is argubally as valid as anything else. I personally dont agree with it, I just have a very passionate view about people being allowed the freedom to say and feel what they want.

As long as they maintain a professional attitude in work and dont give people any grief then I say let them think what they want. Thats what our forefathers fought and died for afterall. The right to think what you want be it good or bad.

For me; you guys are the bigots since your trying to force people into pigeonholes and give them labels.

Note sure what you're asking of me here Klion.

I concede that I am not omniscient, and even when people in their actions and their language cause me to conclude that they could be racists, I can never be certain.

But this is just a very matter of fact statement about epistemology. I can never know for certain "as a fact" someone is a racist, just as I can never know "for sure" that the sun is a ball of gas in space, or that Newtons laws operate under all circumstances. I can have a degree of certainty, but there will always be an error bar.

Theres a huge difference between the degree of certainty regarding the sun and that which makes you believe someone using a specific word is a racist.

You have conceded that you cannot KNOW someones motive, so you have pretty much agreed that I am right. What differs between you and I however is you are willing to base your assumption (using the original example) of a heated exchange as proof of racism, I would not.
