Question Dress dilema

Ok - companys xmas doo

I have the shoes: - silver strappy sandals with diamonds on the front row - wore em to a uo meet once - not that anyone would remeber what shoes i wore, just incase anyone does tho- it was them ones.

I have the dress: - dark satiny purple halter neck dress from Debbies - very pretty, and bought the bra to hold my puppies in it off ebay for ?3, so that little problem is sorted too.

Dilema - coz its halter neck - and i have the shoes planned and the undies planned too, what can i wear to cover my shoulders with for when it gets chilly and stuff?

I looked at pashminas, and stoles and boleros, and then i thought i couldnt really go with the mini cardy - coz the dress kinda has the cross over front - showing cleavage, and so to stick a 'half cardy' over half my chest might look kinda naff, but then i never ever wore a 'scarf' type thing, except for my freshers ball like a million years ago when i had a feather boa for a laugh.
So what do i do?
Any suggestions?
Pics more than welcomed!

Why not wear a shawl? They come in all shapes and sizes plus you can wrap them round yourself to keep warm! They are really versatile! You can also get sparkly ones and evening shawls!

You can get a nice sparkly bolero that doesn't do up at the front, or otherwise, I think a pashmina would look good.
or what about

Whenever I'm in doubt, I go with black jeans and a black t-shirt.

With rising unemployment, possibly you could hire a hairy jobseeker to hang around your neck when it's nippy, and go off and keep themselves occupied when you're warm?

Lovely pic there by the way

A nice way to wear a shawl or pashmina. You can use a plain or sparkly brooch or safety pin from underneath to pin it up on one shoulder and it has a lot lower risk of falling into your gin, though of course you don't get the benefit of flashing your cleavage.

Looks like a spiffy rig!

M&S have some lovely wraps at the moment. Fancy cashmere type ones for £20 and they are warm too.
