 | Innocent Victims........or stupid gits? There have been a lot of stories in the press recently about people who are being "conned" out of thousands of pounds, after being told that they have won the lottery in Canada, Spain etc. Look here. When will people realise that if you haven't ENTERED a lottery, then there is no way you can actually have WON it?????  The so-called victims are being paraded on the TV and expect our sympathy for their plight, but if they hadn't been greedy in the first place, they wouldn't have fallen for the crap, no matter how plausible the scammer was.

| Teeny Weeny Member I'll buy that for a Dollar  | I have slightly more sympathy for them than I have for people who fall for Nigerian 419-scams. At least these muppets are just stupid, not trying to commit a crime (most propositions in those Nigerian 419 scams would be illegal. Fraud, theft, tax evasion etc). That being said, "slightly more" is not a whole lot, and I sure as hell wouldn't come forward if I was dumb enough to fall for that. |

| its like i can sympathise with the folks who have lost money through the collapse of the Farepack xmas company here - but one thing i never quite get is if you want to save for xmas why not just put said amount of money in a savings account throughout the year rather than handing it over to some greedy company? That way you can be sure your money will be there at the end of the year when you want to do the slap up xmas thingy

| I think you're doing these people an injustice ... they could have fabulous careers awaiting them in the 'being sold bridges and ancient landmarks' field. (No sympathy whatsoever ....)
