I love the Arctic Monkeys and I'm not a bit ashamed of it!
My secret shame is that I own the Justin Timberlake first cd and have played it lots of times.

Hmmm.... I'll totally ruin my reputation as a hard-rocking chick here, but if someone gave me a ticket to see Robbie Williams live, I'd say thank you very much (though very quietly for fear of being overheard). The guy knows how to work a crowd. *shrugs*

Hmmmm a good thread! I have a song by Bucks Fizz on my ipod :- The Land Of Make Believe. Prety embarassing if i have it on shuffle and my mates are round. Erasure is the band I'm ashamed of liking tbh!

Ive got a load of em but here are a couple of highlights.

GoGos
Commodores(Lionel Richie)
Jackson 5 (I'll be there)

Top that.

I mean please top that, someone has to be more pathetic than me. Please.

*looks pleadingly at all others*

Nadir Rising .... OK, that's my band and TBH, we freakin' rock!!!!!

Looking at those so far ...

- Arctic Monkeys ... cool and as a bass player, I have to love what they play.
- Slipnot ... "Slipping away" ... need I say more?
- Justin Timberlake ... not only is he 'bringing sexy back' but he's the human beatbox! His mother must be so proud!
- Robbie Williams - I actually had a ticket for him on the 16th of September at Milton Keynes through work, but still in the official 9 days of birthday celebration that the Medders has to observe, turned it down for a Metal Gig where I got invited onto the stage to sing Prime Mover by Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction (and then invaded the stage for Born to be Wild), but I would have loved to see him live ... hey, I saw Elton at Vicarage Road a year or so ago sponsored by my work, and he was great as well!!!
- Gerri Halliwell - Watford girl so I have to love her, and all in all the Spice Girls had some good tunes (the more upbeat ones).
- Erasure - Vince Clark? Yazoo and Depeche Mode? Come on ... surely that's enough pedigree for that old dog, AND Erasure reformed and were touring about two months ago ... see press for details!
- Bucks Fizz - Eurovision winners ... compared to this years effort, I'll leave you to form your own conclusion ... OK ... THEY EURO ROCKED!!!!
- Jackson Five - "Can you feel it?" ... oh yes I can, brilliant disco track and an inciteful equal rights song.
- The Commodores - 64 or Omega, your basic workhorse computers of the 80's ... considering Matthew Brodrick almost destroyed the world with an old IMSAI in Wargames ... oh, the band? Hey, Faith No More recorded Easy for a reason! Great tunes.
- The Gogos? Belinda Carlisle? Without them there would be no Circles in the Sand! Also, one of their later songs was written by Billy Joe Armstrong from Greenday!

So, generally, nothing to be ashamed of ... and that's from a Heavy Metal God!

Let's change this to "Song's I'm proud to like"?

Jolene - Dolly Parton ... oh yes! You know you love it!
Venus - Bananarama ... Goddess on a mountain top says all. The original Shocking Blue version ain't bad either.
Downunder - Men at Work ... anyone for Vegamite?
Left of Centre - Suzanne Vega ... hmmm - thought provoking.

Oh, and I used to know the rap to Turtle Power from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Partnerz in Crime) off by heart, being the first single I ever bought!

Can I just back up THAT point with the fact that he's spent half the evening singing the backing vocals to my "Land of make believe" and "Electric Dreams".

(He's gonna kill me when he sees I told everyone that)

We`ll always be together
However far it seems
(love never ends)
We`ll always be together
Together in electric dreams

Phil Oakey rules, and for "Land of make beleive", this comes in a time of Duran Duran and Labyrinth, so not great, but still not bad!

I tend to sing along to the V.Ice rap.

First ever single I bought was N.K.O.T.B. Though I never got into them as badly as a friend of mine did.

well.. erm... had backstage tickets and 3rd row seats to .. um.. NSync.. got to sit in the soundbox/videobox (+ backstage.. had dinner with backstage crew there + sat in the busses chatting awhile) for tour of Rush... mm missed out on backstage with Brittney because I had to travel then... but could have gotten tickets, but I have the photos

but of course, this is all because I happen to know a guy who was working on the video stuff for all of these tours... he used to be my best friends boyfriend... and when he went on tour, it was practically the only way to be able to go and say hello and such, but the timetables really suck (he also did the metallica tours)
