What stupid things have you done with the car because you were too knackered to think straight? Typical Monday morning syndrome!

Here is a list of mine:-

1: Left the keys in the ignition and got out the car (Thank you for the modern peeping warning system!)

2: Started the car to help deice the windows, when finished got back into the car and tried to start it again! (Of course it is still on) and the engine makes a screeching sound! OOOPS!

3: Tried to start the car in 3rd gear and drive off with the handbreak on!

1.Drove off fith the hadbreak on, wandered what the funny smell was, it was my tyres. Two black streaks all the way down the road.

2. Locked my keys in the car, (Pulling the handle and pushing the button down then closing the door.) Luckily i never lock my boot so i crawl over and unlock the door again.

I drove off with the handbreak on during my driving test. Luckily I noticed right away and still passed. :P

I only noticed because our car has an electronic warning system. It peeps when the door is opened and the lights are left on and the key is in the ignition. Also shows a red !!!! in a triangle when the handbreak is left on, so luckily I noticed before any real damage was done. My partner would have killed me! He bought winter tyres a few months ago, spanking new.... burning rubber on new tyres is not exactly a good idea.....

When I was in the process of leaving my husband, I would go out early and stay out till 3-4am and then come home... For like a week, every night, when I would come home Id be so tired, and it was so dark (we lived out in the country) that I hit the garage sides every time I pulled into it.

I have white streaks on both sides of my car.

and most days Id just shrug and wait till morning to see the damage.

I drove to Sands End (or was it Lands End?) somewhere on the coast just north of whitby - it was about 2am after a night club with a few friends shortly after Id past my test.

Having already driven along roadworks knocking the cones over (i wasnt too happy about one lad leaning out the window doing this so came up with the great idea of speeding up to put him off and he kind of smashed his hand doing it), been pulled over by the police with everyone in the car stinking of alcohol but me we got there and ran into the sea (seemed a good idea at the time).

Getting back to the car soaking wet around 3am was when I noticed I no longed had my car keys - took me a while to persuade the rest that I wasn't joking and we then spent about 30 minutes walking up and down a beach in the middle of the night looking for them.

Freezing cold we eventually squeezed into a phone box, and after a while I think one lad actually had a panic attack and picked up the phone and called the police asking for help. I think it was then I phoned my dad and asked him to come get us with a spare set, dont think he was too chuffed having to get up for work in a couple of hours.

Just as he arrived a police car did come, searched the boot then buggered off.

So the short answer is run into the sea with my car keys at 3am.
