Medical records clerk at Great Ormond Street Hospital; working with a bunch of the most vacant bimbos in the world, who talked all day long about Coronation Street and Eastenders as if they were real.

Night Warden at a £400 pound a night hotel in the middle of rutland waters (hambleton hall). Working hours 11pm-7am

I was there to let people in if they were late back (never happened) or if a fire occured to evacuate people.

Just had to patrol around for 8 hours.
Got alot better when i figured out how to get past the network security on their pc's.

Being on a reception desk. No phone calls, ok maybe one or two a day, and no visitors except maybe the odd delivery man. Sitting staring at a door the whole day!

This one *sigh* pathetic pay (ie just over minimum wage), far too much customer service, not enough technical stuff

Worst job i ever had was repairing the electrics in a Pig breeding pen while it was full of pigs which took nearly 8 hours to finish (during breeding time).

Still have nightmares full of the sound of squelling pigs *shudders*

Data entry...
Of what was basically a table of contents for every hydrographic survey done by the UKHO since 1745 or something... Thousands and thousands and thousands than thousands of them...

It took about 8 months of 35 hours/week before I actually got to work on something that wasn't a ledger...

The most boring was sticking barcodes on bottles of shampoo that came down a conveyor belt. That wasn't the worst though... One warehouse job I had was cleaning bathroom scales that people had returned to Argos. I had to get on them to see if they were genuinely faulty, or just unflattering, and then take the unflattering ones, clean them with cleaning fluids (a lot had grey gunk on from sticky labels) and pack them up. What made it particularly nasty was that the warehouse was freezing cold and I was so poor at the time I had holes in my shoes and had to stand on cardboard to stop my feet freezing. I was so miserable I'd go home and cry. Fortunately it was only for a week. I don't think I could have lasted any longer.

Imagin 10.000 round metal things on the size of a old LP.
They arrive from China with some stickers on, even though the Chinese people were told not to put stickers on.
You get equipped with a pistol, that blows heat and then you begin to remove the stickers....

After the first one....Weeeiii - 9999 to go!

Worked in a book shop for two weeks for work xp, first week I spent reading all the "adult humour" books. Then they told be to stop it and stuck me in charge of the nature books which was a bore.

Never really had a boring job - been lucky.

However, did have one job which was intensly hard work and dangerous and most probably should have been illegal.

Basically it was "weed spraying" the paths around Oxford - the co. I worked for got paid by the meter so we had to do a huge amount per day. So what they did was give each of us a 50L strap on bottle of paraquat - yes paraquat and we had to walk spraying this at a fast walking pace.

Now you will realise that 50L of water weighs - 50 kilos which trust me is a HUGE weight after walking for maybe 20m?

This was carried out in the middle of summer - and we had no protective gear on and it was so hot we did it in shorts ...

So we basically covered ourselves and the residents of Oxford in paraquat in baking heat almost bent over double with the weight.

After day one I suggested reducing the weight to 25kilos [still really heavy] and we could actually walk and do the job!

I lasted four weeks in total after realising we were getting really shafted [me and my mate] and that it was dangerous and unethical.
