I usually use Misco myself - here is the list of graphics cards:

http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/....asp?CatId=431

If i had an AGP slot then I would probably buy this:

http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...312&sku=510331

As a pretty good cheap card

if you have a PCI-e SLOT then this one seems pretty ok to me:

http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...267065&CatId=0

But you need to find out what slots you have on board first =)

And of course there are people wiht much better kung-fu than me so I await their input also. And I reckon you should also mizz buttinz

As far as I can make out, it's only got a basic PCI slot. Whatever that means.

yup had a quick look and it seems the 2400 shipped with just onboard graphics and no real upgrade route

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...uct_uid=121534

is probably your best bet tho not great in itself you could probably do with more RAM too unless you upgraded already.

Depends how much you're willing to spend.

The 6200 is a bit on the low end. Id try and either go for a 6600 (the hundreds number is indicitive of how "good" it is, within the thousands series - IE the 6 series).

www.overclockers.co.uk is a very reliable and relatively cheap site. They usually always have offers on. ATI do some fantastic cards... their very latest don't really live up to NVidia's latest, but you probably won't be forking out the amount they go for.

Example, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...=56&subcat=356

Although this is under £30, I don't know if it would work with either

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...=56&subcat=416

£100, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...=56&subcat=404. I paid £180 for something similar about 6 months ago. If you really care about KR, go for a card now, but if you don't want to adopt yet it may be worth waiting till you really want to play, as cards will go down in price all the time.

Trev, small issue in that they won't work with the system. It's PCI - not PCI-E. Unfortunately PCI graphics is becoming very obsolete very quickly. Even AGP, which is the next newer stage, is becoming very difficult to get hold of.

Do you think washing it in soapy water would help, Aeri?

Why? Its not broken is it?

But why would you want to try everquest when EQ2 is out? Seems rather pointless
Especially when you wont have the same 'community' as you do in UO

It was EQ2, I just forgot to put the 2 on it.
Anyway, to get to the main point, is it new computer time?

If your graphic card can't run UO KR properly then most likely yes. <_<

May be worth holding out for a new PC then. Dell do some rather nice cheap ones from their outlet, if you don't want the hassle of building your own. No monitor but you can get something that works quite well for > £300

Will probably even have vista

Its provision of an MDA compatible high quality text mode in combination with a (for its time) high resolution graphics mode (as well as aggressive pricing) made the Hercules card extraordinarily popular in the early days of the PC. The existence of CGA emulation drivers/TSRs, which allowed Hercules users to run programs written for the CGA card's standard graphics modes (albeit only in monochrome, without actual colour), may also have been a contributing factor to its success, especially so because programming for the Hercules card's native graphics mode was somewhat hindered by the fact that there was neither any BIOS support nor standardization from IBM — after all, the HGC was a competing technology. Popular IBM PC programs at the time (such as Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet and Autocad computer-aided drafting) came with their own drivers to allow use of the Hercules graphics mode.
