I was so lucky not to have morning sickness, but instead got the hip thing and that cough that made me lose whatever I'd eaten anyway.

Went to a demo on washable nappies today and took my mum along, she never realised how many different types of washable nappies you could get. It was really useful and showed that if you use them and breastfeed you can save about £1000 in the first year of a baby's life.

Lenore- Good news! What a relief! I am almost obsessive about taking my contraceptive pill because of that! Don't want any scares! Problem is if you have to take antibiotics or get an attack of the runs!

Had a bit of a scare with the Doctor today, he says the baby is presenting very low, head down already and lying back to back. Which means he could be pre-term and that I have to rest as much as possible. Its made me really nervous now about going too far from home on my own and more glad that my partner doesn't start work till October.
I'm glad that we've pretty much got everything we need now and its just the crib, thats 34 years old, needs sanding down and a fresh coat of paint. I'm also putting my hospital bag together just in case...

Hi Meiko, How many weeks pregnant are you? I had that with my second pregnancy. My sons head engaged when I was 30 weeks pregnant. I had pelvic girdle pain from 20 weeks and was a nightmare. The pain was so bad I slept through the first half of labour thinking it was just braxton hicks and woke up when my waters broke. After that it took 1 and a half hours before he came into the world. Lucky we got to the hospital in time! So bonus is you will probably have a quick labour! but be careful! Mine was born at 38 weeks so was ok.

meiko as its not your first theres a good chance he will move around as its only first babies that engage and stay engaged subsequent babies can bob in and out of the pelvis as its been used once before iyswim. I do hope he moves from back to back for you though back to back labour sucks.

I heard the fourth pregnancy and after are supposed to be more risky as the babies can move around more? is that true?

With my first I had no pain at all in my pelvis, only with the second, also what was weird is that after my second my pelvis never went back to normal even though I lost all my baby flab but with my first that didn't happen....
the body sure is weird, and every baby seems to be different.

Different partner too with this one and he was born 6 weeks early, he seems certain that this one will be early. My mum said the same as Lenore that he could move again, so hopefully he will. Last night I had to sleep on the sofa again because of the pelvic girdle pain and it seems everytime I lie on my right side we wiggles more so I'm forced to turn over alot.
Oh and I'm 31 nearly 32 weeks pregnant.

Alex moved quite a bit, and by the time your in your 30's (week wise) the switch from head up, to breech, to head down is painful! She moved from head up to head down twice before I gave birth to her. I hated it when she moved in the latter weeks position wise..

Just take care of yourself and rest rest rest!
