![]() | Sleeping was a nightmare for me. And it only got worse after she was born! hah! Doesnt help that we co-sleep I imagine but still.. Between being uncomfortable, being completely stiff for no good reason (esp near the end) and the vivid nightmares/dreams, sleeplessness and the bathroom trips, youd think youd have nowhere to go but up after the birth... Then you enjoy sleeplessness to the max! Right around three months I was having really vivid dreams that bordered disturbing. My only advice is to get maybe a body pillow, as I got one and it helped alot. They sell pregnancy body pillows here, I dont know about there. Kind of in the shape of a C.. But alot more expensive than a normal old body pillow. I still use my body pillow, but more or less as just a barrier in the bed so that the baby doesnt roll off in her or my sleep, which she never does thankfully. I read a book like that Sally when I was pregnant! All, good solid advice... haha!

![]() | ahh my mw called that spd syphynis pubis dysfunction its the same thing i think they just gave me exercises to do told me to take paracetamols and offered me a tubigrip type belt thing for under bump it sucks and gets worse as pregnancy goes on but one thing i was told that helped was everytime you go to sit down or stand or move in anyway way pull all your tummy muscles in as this helps keep the pelvis in placejust while you start the movement then it should hurt so much

Not much you can do against it though, except warm baths and a hot water bottle Paracetomol does not help at all. Weird thing is my pelvis never went back to normal afterwards and even though I lost my pregnancy blubber I have wide hips now!Last edited by Ebony&Markus; 02-04-08 at 05:27 PM.

| Senior Member Lady | I don't think I'll get used to the pain, my bf has said just ignore it and get on with it. Bah! alright for him he doesn't mind pain but this can be sharp stop you in your tracks kind. The SPB affects you more in the front apparently at the pubic bone and yeah they can be linked. I've tried to take as much advice the website gives me and stopped putting my feet up, concentrating on sitting as upright as is comfortable and doing little excercises. It is very possible to last after pregnancy, like Ebony says and it can affect you during birth making certain positions more painful than normal. Just have to wait and see what my Doctor says but it does seem very likely to be this as the symptoms are very similar. |

| Senior Member Lady | Got my 20 week scan tomorrow We've decided that if its possible we're going to find out what sex it is so we can take full advantage of the summer sales. Plus then I have something to say to the people who keep asking me. I'll put up a picture here of the scan.I've still got the hip problems and been seeing a Physio about it, been given some excersises to do and belt to wear, I did have a tubigrip one but said it was awkward and uncomfortable so now I've one with velcro so I can put it and off easier. We're both very excited now and to think we've another 20 weeks to go is a bit annoying as this first half has already dragged a bit. Just hoping it doesn't get too much hotter. |
