Sorry for leaving you all in the dark for so long but I've hardly been anywhere near my PC for the last 4 weeks.
Alexander was finally born on 4th October at 3.10am, weighing a very cute 6lb 9oz. I was admitted to hospital by my midwife on the Thursday because of pre-eclampsia, which we're blaming on the stupid workers doing our kitchen and bathroom. Was induced twice on Friday as the hospital was so busy on Thursday they had to shut the maternity unit down, so spent a whole evening/night in there being monitored, giving urine samples and generally getting bored. I had my partner and mum with me all day on Friday and eventually sent them home at 11pm as it looked like nothing was going to happen after the second tablet was put in. (If you've ever watched Friends, it was like the episode where Rachael is in the hospital and all those women go in and out before her to have their babies.) My waters broke at about 12am, so I had to call them back quick, hehe, I only had gas and air as there wasn't time for anything else and he was born about 2 1/2 hours after my contractions started properly.
This is him at an hour an half.
Unfortunatly the injection they give you after giving birth to contract your womb didn't work properly and I ended up losing alot of blood, big bloodclots, so ended up on a drip for 4 hours, which was worse than the labour itself because I was having contractions with no pain killers.
Sadly I'm not breastfeeding

we were doing ok for the first 3 days, well except he was sleeping alot and I had to fight with him to get him to latch on. After my milk came in he just couldn't latch on at all and ended up losing more than 10% of his birth weight so we had to give him formula. I was extracting for about a week or so after but my supply just got less and less and as I was anemic as well I got too tired to carry it on.
Just a week old here.
I'll try and add a bit more another day as now its time for his late evening feed.
