Wensday morning 8th Aug.

Was on duty erly again last nigt, evrything quiet. The Duke reported a meeting or something was going to hapen in the park so I kept an eye out and sure enogh some masked man turned up. Refused to take the mask of, ushual thing about being burned with lots of scars. I give him the ushual speel but he was one of them that realy acts up and woodnt even take it of when the Duke come by. I followed him out of town to make shure he left. He thretened me with something horible hapening after 37 1/2 hours wich by my rekoning is about 8am tomorow so most likly itll be geting poisond by brekfast in the baracks. (Note to Sargents: plese can you tell the cooks that bacon aint ment to be cold gresy and soft and egs are better not burnt and good porrige dont have lumps in it.) It took him ages to stop talking and he seems to think the opf *crossed out* off *crossed out* snake things that are in Vesper are going to go evrywhere I guess Trinsic as well. And that its all becuse of one man and said it was one of the rulers of the land and he was going round checking up on them to show them lying and colab *crossed out* colle *crossed out* calob *crossed out* working with the snake things. I told him there was no way the Duke had anything to do with it and finaly he went of and I hope he falls in the swamp. If he comes back dont let him in town *a description of Snaeval is attached*

The Duke showed me this big black hole thing in the ground on Paladin Isle wich he said was a crater and dangerus wich wasnt hard to beleve. It had some grenish yellowy cristal thing stuck on one ege. Seems it fell from the sky wich is what made the hole exept it only looks like a hole and you cant get in it. He said he was going to get someone to make a drawring of it and send it to the Bloodguard and after that he was going to be buzy with other things so I went of and patroled the town.

All stayed queit but later when I went back to releve the paladin at the gate there was a blue moongate wich did not go away like normal. So I armed up and went throgh to make shure it was alrigt and nothing bad was going to come throgh it to Trinsic. It went to a room with some peple talking one was the Commander from Britain Jordan Jurel. It was his office in Minoc. He was saying about the crater things they are in Skara and Britain and Magincia now so I said about the one the Duke found in Trinsic wich he made note of. The Commander said there is anuther crater somewere becuse 5 things fell out of the sky but no one has found it yet. There was that madman Rex from Cove making truble who said Cove was a crater and betted the Commander that he could find the crater first. The Commander was a lot niser to him than the Duke wood have been. Pierre then came throgh the gate to. The Commander wants us to keep an eye on the hole becuse something called a star beast migt come throgh it or maybe come back to it I am not shure. There is an ass *crossed out* est *crossed out* a man who looks at stars in the office called Eric or something like that he will say if he finds anything out. The star beast is very dangerus. So is the cristal maybe as the Commander said it made a lich go corupted worse than ushual but he has got the cristal back I hope he dose not get corupted to. As there are not enogh guards at the moment Pierre said he wood ask some others to help us like the elfs and some knights. The Commander made a new moongate to send us back to Trinsic he is very helpfull.

When we got back to Trinsic I showed Pierre where the hole is. We tried to break a bit of the cristal but it is to hard. The hole has to be patroled regulaly it is close to the Keg & Anchor so esy to add to the ushual route.

Saturday morning 12th Aug.

Thursday was the market, lots of strange people but all pretty peeceful exept Kaldorians and Brit Guards giving each other nasty stares. Pierre stood and stared at them most of the night and as far as I now they behaved. The new man Montenegro was on duty there to he had to escort some drunk out of town but he didnt have any trubel. I patroled the rest of town wich was very quiet. Nothing happend at the crater on Paladin Isle.

Was a bit late for duty on Friday blame it on the beds in the baracks they are comftable not hard and lumpy like the porige and I oversleped. Met John outside the gate he put something in the ground and there was a thunder sound and then a hole load of magik regent things grew up round him. It was one of them green thorn things wich I didnt know they could do that I told him about vorpal bunnys but he didnt beleve me. After we done a patrol and met back at the gate there was a Kaldorian and some snotty nosed little *word scribbled out* woman arguing so we left them to it and went to Skara to the farms. Had to kill some snake things on the way they are spreding out. We got to the cotton feeld and John put a thorn in the ground and sure enogh out pops this brigt blue bunny and took of like a dragon was chasing it. We chased it round and I got in a few hits with my warfork it didnt fight back much only chewed one boot some. (Note to Sargents claming 20 gold for repairs by cobbler.) After we chased for a bit it burowd down in the ground again so we went back to Trinsic.

John went of to patrol more and I stayed at the gate. There was a few people come in and out. That Eike was hanging round some I sent him to the Rose and I hope the Kaldorians give him what he deservs. Cecil tiped a jug of water on himself he wanted to now what it was like when it rained. Some Kaldorian that I dont now is looking for a drow called Iglata seems very importent. Comander Soleshadow asked if there was a merchent looking for her but there wasnt one. Some old drunk man probly magik user as hes got that stink of regents wanted to now if a woman about 5?2? long wite hair caled Racks something had come throgh the gate but I dont now her so cant say. It was secret so he wouldnt put an advert in the Morning Poste. Talking of wich I might be in trubel as there was anuther man standing at the gate reeding it and he told me that reporter put in what I said about the things that scared me it was only being stupid to annoy that masked man but she writ it down. If she drops so much as a pencel shaving next time I will do her for litering all guards plese note it is the old smelly drunk one caled Rita. Duke will probly think its funy at leest I hope so or I will be on stabel cleening. He didnt say anything when he come in town he just went to talk to Pierre about some report but maybe he hasnt red it yet.

Pierre warned about 4 brigands by the Rose they atacked Comander Soleshadow they are very brave or very stupid. The Kaldorians chased them all the way to Strongholt. They didnt come near the gate while I was there. After Duke come in town I went of to patrol some more and found a man near the Counselors Guild in armor and carring a crossbow said he was a hunter wanting to sell meat and hides he had some but nowere near enogh to be a real hunter. I told him to put his crossbow away wich he did and eskorted him round to the tanner and bucher. He is a suspishus person and must be kept an eye on if he comes back *description of man attached* Patroled round the moongate and Rose all quiet and town to still nothing at the crater so went of duty.

Sunday morning 13th Aug.

Farely quiet day yesterday. Was on gate duty most of the time. That Kaldorian enforcer was so drunk he threw up in the river and was stagering around I rekon he cood not enforce a rabit in that state. Foxy folowed him of and said he went to sleep. That magik using one Aeries was hanging round she is weerd and does not think like other peple.

I put out the recrutment leflets like ushual with red and coper cloth but there was this stupid anoying woman who kept changing the cloth colors and woodnt stop when I asked she is one of those madwomen you cant stop doing anything. I changed it all back twise but she did it again so I took the cloth away and then she got her own cloth and put that down so after that I took the leflets away too exept the ones she didnt find. (Note to anyone els doing it: she nows about the ones at both gates and the jail and the bank and both ins but not the others.) She has been in town befor and always weres a dark red dres and hat with fether in it and runs in and out of town without saying anything ushualy and looks like this *description attached*. When I was wasting time chasing round after her I saw that big Kaldorian Kai on the brige by the jail he was looking very down in the dumps but when I said I wood try and help if I cood Comander Soleshadow come up and he give me this look so I went away evry time I went past them after that they was still talking like for hours.

Some drow tried to get 2 other drow in trubel by saying they was standing by the brige ploting to rob the jewelers. Like they wood cary on ploting if I went to lissen anyway wich she was trying to make me do I think maybe she wanted me of the gate so I never moved. She tried to piss me of but I dont beleve nothing them cave rats say so I didnt do nothing just told her to get lost. She hung round the old log outside the gate that evryone wants to sit on for some reson but didnt do nothing els.

The Barones come back in town she didnt say were she was all this time and it aint my place to ask. She wanted to now evrything that hapened wich is way too much to tell but I said about Vesper throwing Yew out and now they want Minoc wich I dont now no more about she will have to ask the Duke. I said about the snake things to and the craters and showed her the one in Trinsic as I had forgot to do it in patroling erlier it is that stupid womans falt for mesing up the recrutment leflets. The Barones aint pleased about Vierna and the Morning Poste and she wants to see Imrae. She didnt say no more as she had to go check somthing and all was quiet so I went of duty.

Tuesday lunchtime 15th Aug.

Herd yesterday there are snake things all over Skara now. Hope my family are alrite or got out I will ask for a day of to go and check. Pierre said snakes have got Serpents Hold to I hope they dont decide to get Trinsic next. Evrything quiet at the crater wich is good but I dont think it is anything to do with the snakes as there are craters in Britain Magincia and Moonglow to but they dont have snakes only Skara has both.

Lady Flame of the Blodguard left a mesage for the Duke about a meeting also a poster about fiting the snake things I gave them to him and he said he wood have the posters put up evrywere and send them to the Poste to so he went of to do that. She come back later looking for the Duke but he had gon away again.

Patroled round Trinsic Rose not many there but later the barmaid Aerie come to the gate she wanted Ulran of Kaldor but he wasnt in town. Seems that drow wich is after Lady VanQa was in the taven and she had a dis *crossed out* desk *crossed out* note of what he looks like. Pierre come up so I give it to him to see if he cood find Ulran but he didnt. Then Comander Soleshadow come looking for Kai so he gave it to her. Kai is mising if anyone sees him they shood tell the Comander as soon as posibel. I have got a copy of the note from Aerie I will put up a wanted poster later.

A dworf turned up looking for work he had seen one of the recrutment leflets wich that woman had not dyed the colors rong this time he had a hamer pick wich he said he cood use to brake neecaps wich is about all he cood reech I rekon. He said he dose magik stuff too but he didnt show any. Dworfs are difrent from nomes but not shure how exacly. Pierre and me talked to him he was ferce but did not get very angry he mite do alrite as a guard. His name is Belrak and he will send a form to the ofice today I said I wood tell the Duke.

Was back at the gate later Iljian showed up have not seen him in ages. He was away lerning more medecin stuff I asked if he was at the Umbra Universty wich was in the Poste but he wasnt there. I said he cood do a talk next time but he dosent want to. I told him the Duke was looking for him as I herd a bit of what the Duke said to Liana about an apology wich she was plesed about but I didnt here no more as I had to go of. Iljian asked were Liana was I have not seen her for ages ether I think she mite not be very well he went to look for her.

I went of duty after that as all was quiet. Pierre said he wood buy me a drink but I said not this time.

Saturday morning 19th Aug.

On Thursday I was going on leeve to Skara but first some drow have anoyed the Barones she asked me to put out warrents for them and then they got band from town along with some others they kidnapped her and Leisa and tortured them maybe she will get rid of them all. After I did that I went to Skara and helped get rid of the snake things. Aelred and Lance and Liana came to help to and Luid for a bit as well and hundreds of other peple. The family are all fine they got out to Britain for a bit but they are home now and cleening up the snake stink and mess. I went to Serpents Hold to wich is cleared of snakes now as well I think they were all pushed of throgh the fire dungeon passage wich I herd someone saying goes to the desert where they live. I went to Vesper for a bit last nite as well not in uniform and kept my face hid like the Duke said becuse that Toothumbs was going to kill anyone he saw that wasnt Vesperian or something he shood stick to killing snake things they are more troubel rite now. There were millions of them but we got them of a lot of ilands then I had to go back to Trinsic and cleen up and get on duty.

Iljian was at the gate alredy and then Leisa come up but not on duty she is pissed of becuse of something wich hapened with Iljian and the drow I think she mite have been kind of stupid evryone nows you cant trust drow. She sat on the log and woodnt relly talk to us then Tiggarn come up and she talked to him for a bit but I dont now what about. John and Kiri come on duty then that Emily girl who thinks shes a musishan come past and said she wood play some music so me and Kiri went patroling quick to get away. We checked the bank and the baker so Kiri cood get a cake I think she dose that quite offen and the heeler wich was all quiet not even Kaelyn in there today then I showed Kiri the crater and said it had to be checked regularly. I showed John earlier to. It is all still the same as before and no snakes either in Trinsic yet only some drow talking neer the tavern.

Emily was gone when we got back to the gate and Iljian was talking to Comander Soleshadow in the jail. Kiri wanted to show how good she is at archry now she tried to get a mongbat to come in town to shoot it but Tiggarn killed it on the way so then she wanted to shoot an aple of John's head but he didnt have one. She got out a chese insted and I put it on my head and she shot it of but I moved closer than she stood first as I like my head and want to keep it. The chese got all broken and fell on the ground and then Comander Soleshadow come out I think she thought we was being stupid and maybe she is rite but Kiri aint grown up yet and she is offen silly. Iljian and Liana went of with a packhorse to take stone to where they are bilding there new house they come back a bit later.

After that it was mostly quiet Kiri was being silly again when a Kaldorian asked us for a drink she reckoned it was a date wich it wasnt and I didnt go anyway. Emily come back and asked if the Duke was in town but he wasnt. No-one new about the Duke getting divorsed wich was in the paper seems they never reed it Kiri asked if I was ever in there and I said about that Rita riting what I said she thoght it was funy. I went of duty erly as I was still tired from fiting the snake things.

Friday afternoon 25th Aug. Have not riten logbook for neerly a week so this will be long.

Saturday was on middel shift. When I got to Trinsic I was told by one of the Templer people that John was in the heeler so I went and found him and Vegeta from Kaldor both there they had been nocked down by that harf drow brat of Klions. I cheked all round town but cood not find him I gess he had run of. I found evidence of fiting round the moongate but no-one was there. John has riten the report of his atack. Later Edmund the Kaldorian come in town and said it was him fiting at the moongate with that madwoman Lyria from Nujelm except they arent any more they are with Yew I think anyway he had nocked her down and then her bodyguards had nocked him down. He was alrite and seemed to think it was funy. Strange man called Jon Walance stood at the gate for ages and talked a lot he is reely weerd. Finaly he went of and it was the end of my shift.

Middel shift again on Sunday so went to kill a few snakes in Skara ferst. When I got back to Trinsic I talked to Leisa a bit she was not quite so angry today she is woried that she will be sacked and maybe floged. The Barones has vanished again I supose she is away recovering from being beeten up by those drow. I hope the Duke sorts Leisa out quickly she is not hapy. Some more people come in and out but most of them ignore the guards even when we are polite. Lady VanQa come in she still cant talk then Lady Flame with 2 frends. She wanted to see the Duke and they went of quiet somewhere to talk after that the Duke sent a leter to the Shadow Cort. Another minstrel sang some songs of what he said was the old days wich no one remembers any more he was prety good. All was quiet after that so I went of shift erly owing to being tired from fiting snakes to much.

Monday was nite shift there was nothing speshul to report all was quiet exept a bard who was wating at the gate for someone to take him to Magincia he was a bit drunk and sang lots but he was not bad so I let him. Tuesday was on leeve so went to make shure family was alrite in Britain wich they were but all wish they cood go home to Skara.

Normal shift on Wednesday started out all quiet on patroling. John was at the gate. Some Templer peple had a meting with Pierre but I dont now what about. Duke was in town sat in the jail again wich he has not done for a wile. A lady come to do some sort of trade with him wich I dont now what it was but later she come back with a scary looking thing wich is sort of harf bird and harf dragon it comes from the Tokuno ilands. The Duke seemed plesed with it and said no one wood get any of his mesages if that was carying them I agree I wood not try and get anything from it. He left it in the jail for a bit I supose we can always threten to feed prisoners to it. Desided to ask the Duke about the bit in the paper wich Rita Skeeter rote about me as he had not said anything but he said he had seen it and new I did not reely mean it so I am not on stabel cleening.

Big shift on Thursday I dont now wether there was some trubel expected or something but nothing much hapened exept Comander Soleshadow making trubel wich I will rite a seprate report for. Lady VanQa left lots of cookies for us in the jail she is a very good cook but she needs a bodyguard but she wont. Wile the Comander was in the cell that Captain Devante of the Marksmen come in asking to see her and teling lies about being a frend of the Duke and used to be a lover of the Comander like she wood bother with him. Then he started asking me to go to diner with him but there is no way I wood he is a lying slimey scuzball. The lady who give the dragon bird to the duke come looking for Kaelyn to get a licence wich Kaelyn give her she is trading animals. Liana and Iljian and John and Lance and Kiri were all on duty to wich didnt help with chasing Comander Soleshadow she mite clame Kaldor is honorabel but she didnt proov it. Kaelyn was asking us about promoshun things she wood make a good sargent wich I will report to the Duke to.

It was my bad jugement wich let her get out I will acept whatever punishment is needed.

Tuesday morning 29th Aug.

Was on leave Sunday after night duty Saturday (nothing to report). I come on duty erly Monday and got a note from the Duke saying to see him asap before doing anything els. That dragon bird thing of his aint reely what you want to see wating for you. I went to see him and he talked a lot but said I wasnt to talk about any of what he said which sutes me fine. Have been nocked down to Armswoman again temporaly but still got my jail key but not to use it exept if needed and no one els around.

That stupid marksman who started the truble with Comander Soleshadow was sneeking round outside the gate but me and Liana and Kiri bilt a barricade from bagbals wich I died red and coper to be like Duchy colors wich Liana said was good so I did same at south gate. He went away after that or maybe hid in the bushes Liana said he has been sneeking round and spying in Trinsic and she repoted to the Duke about it. Later anuther marksman come to the gate looking for him and said he is baned from going to Trinsic now wich is no loss. Found out Liana has truble traking me espeshly if I try sneeking I gess becuse of lots of practis back home in Skara but I aint good enogh at hiding yet to be a grand master at it but I will one day soon I rekon I aint got far to go.

Cheked out the doks here becuse of feeling kind of homsick but all quiet and no evidense of any smugling going on exept harbermaster bit to frendly and eeger to plese so he mite be hiding something. Crater all quiet too but not many paladins around they were all up in the traning hall. There was a wandring heeler neer the crater a bit lost he wanted to be in Jhelom so I showed him throgh the moongate wich he was plesed about and give me some gold and since I was there I cheked the Trinsic Rose but no problems there so went bak to the west gate.

There was two men with pet mongbats come throgh the gate exept one had lost his he was drunk and kept talking about it being in the bushes and wanting to go and look for it he cood hardly stand up and probly not see strate so I dout he will find it. Mongbats must be new fashun thing or something we tried to get a Kaldorian to get one but he didnt want to. All quiet after that so did a final round and went of duty.

Tuesday I got very erly duty whole city stayed aslepe I think exept bakers was open so I got some good fresh bred. Directed a mage to the moongate who wanted to go to Moonglow. Crater still quiet.

Wednesday lunchtime 6th Sep.

Missed a few days reports becuse of being on erly and late shifts with nothing much to rite about. Town is pretty peceful most of the time just a few pikpokets wich I mostly kick out of town then they run of and come back with difrent hats on or something thinking we wont rekernise them. There is one yung lad very purs *crossed out* perst *crossed out* comes back a lot he nows all the back alies but so do I. He is cheky but he aint a brat like Claire. I think he came of a ship he is sleping at the docks best I can tell he begs sometimes of the paladins they are to soft.

Saturday got in town and saw Lady VanQa up on the brige over the gate she said she was looking for a high place to jump of so me and Lance and Longfellow spent ages trying to get her down but she woodnt go down and woodnt say nothing to us. I went to get her some milk and got a potion of Erika at the mage shop wich was suposed to make her slepy but it didnt work very well. We got her in the jail after about an hour but she tried to run of then Pierre and some Kaldorians turned up and she started talking after that and wasnt intrested in me and Lance any more so we went back to the gate. She went of with the Kaldorians I think they took her home. Them Marksmen was around to trying to interfeer.

Sunday Pierre went to Minoc with the heelers again I didnt go it was after my shift end was on erlys Sunday and Monday I just saw them leving. I gess it went alrite as they were all back on Monday Kaelyn says her family have moved down north of Trinsic to get away from the fiting at leest the snake things seem to have gone now from most places but I gess that is why evryone is fiting in Minoc again. I herd that Comander Jurrel has garded his ofice with moongates wich send peple to a dunjon or something if they try to get in and it servs them rite thogh maybe he shood move back to Britain wich wood be esier.

Tuesday was busy at the gate with lots of peple coming and going Kiri and Liana had made a baricade with bagbals. There was a bunch of peple who just stood at the gates talking a lot and making coments about the guards as per ushual it gets boring but after a wile they went of. Lady VanQa turned up it seems from reports that the drow trying to get her was disgised as Miguen and mite have kiled him so thats why she wanted to comit suy *crossed out* sues *crossed out* jump of the brige but she is alrite now and left pies and cookis in the jail for us and the drow has run of there is a warent for him wich Lance posted. There was a man who kept coming in and out with pigs wich he said he was seling but he wanted silly money like more than 100 gold so we said no but he did sell some I think. He set one folowing me wich I told him to stop but he said it wasnt his so I took it of south of the gate and kiled it wich he didnt like but didnt do nothing about.

Liana said we needed to get more fethers for the Duchy suplies so she took me and John and Kiri and Sam to kill some harpys Sam got drunk and wasnt folowing Lianas orders even thogh she was leeding he is never going to make proper sargent. She said there was a compatishon to get the most fethers wich Kiri won but she cheets by jumping with magic to get to the harpy bodys first. The Captain is back he didnt say nothing much but he got stuck in the jail most of the day like the Duke does I herd him grumbling about it. Duke has mostly gone back to siting in his ofice insted I dont blame him. Kaelyn said she didnt want to be sargent so she wont be wich is a pity but he made Liana sargent instead I supose thats why she took us to get the suplies. Leisa has left the guards I dont now what hapened with her and Lady Moiraine and the Captain I aint seen her since.

That brat Claire was trying to nick stuff of Imrae but Iljian saw and we tried to get her but she atacked us with magic we chased her all over town finaly we got her to the jail but trying to get her in she was mesing around still and I ended up knocking her down wich was an acident but next time it probly wont be she was screming at me that I was a whore. She kept asking for Comander Soleshadow or Mordred they alredy hate me so I gess itll be back to recruit for me once she lies to them and they tell the Duke. The Captain and Lady Moiraine just let her go nothing ever gets done to her becuse they think she is just a kid so she gets away with evrything and there aint no point. She come back later I wish she wood go to Yew insted they wood deel with her how she deserves.

Sunday morning 10th September.

Was on middle shift yesterday. Sargent Tanya was back but she looked ill and wasnt fit for duty and she talked to Pierre for a long time and went to talk to the Duke and now she is not in the guards any more. There was suposed to be a hunt to clear out some cave localy wich has got infested with trog things but we never got to go becuse of a lot of other things wich hapened. Mostly it was drow causing truble like one trying to smugle in poison and then coming back in disgise with his hair difrent but still waring the same cloths how stupid can they get. Then there was anuther who atacked a guard I dont now wich as I was patroling but I think it was Iljian and Liana got her exept then she managed to just vanish. That one who was trying to get in the other day was outside the gates mouthing of again they never change. There was lots of peple at the gates some Kaldorians and others and John's frend Turlough was around again to.

Liana showed me a pece of paper wich was suposed to be riten by the Duke saying to arest the Barones but it wasnt rite there was loads of copys all over the place wich isnt how he gives orders plus the seel looked all rong. When the Duke come in town he said strate out it wasnt his and he looked anoyed about it we think it was one of the drow did it. He said his son Isidore is going to come to town soon to lern how to be Duke now he has just past his 16th berthday and we are not to take any nonsens from him if he tries to throw his wate around.

There is a new recruit called Kamar who looks like he is part cat and has green hair I asked and he said it was an acksident and was a bit embarased so it is probly best not to ask him. He is ok and works hard and becuse he is like a cat he can smell things wich are rong wich will be useful. He saw a cat and it acted rong wich he explaned later that he hissed at it but it pured back wich it shoodnt so he reckoned it wasnt a cat but a spy in disgise. But it run of and so Liana said we shood catch all the cats in Trinsic to find it so we started puting them all in the jail then she said get dogs to so we did but put them in a difrent cell. I think all of them were reel ones but anyway we put them all out of town in the end. Liana said they was to be baned but thats kind of hard I think she is finding being Sargent a bit stresful.

Later there was an ostard wich kicked her and run of it mite have been the same as the person who was disgised as a cat or maybe dog and there are other animals on the loos to from some Lord and Ladys zoo wich are dangerus. Liana got Dirk to sine a warant for them I think the Lord and Lady that is not the animals. Dirk is back and he come in town and was trying to make truble with Kaldorians like he always does but Iljian got very angry I think and talked and talked at him and the Kaldorians for ages and there wasnt a fite wich was pretty good. Kamar helped he ofered to get Shelly some milk wich put her of what she was saying. The Kaldorians went of to the taven and me and Kamar kept an eye on Dirk becuse it looked like he was going to folow but he didnt and talked quite frendly he looks tired and unhapy about something but he said it was only becuse he wasnt sleping and evrything was fine wich I am not sure this is true.

Went back to the gate after that but all the drow had gon and the Kaldorians were all in the tavern and it was quiet so I went of duty.

Tuesday morning 26th Sept.

Big fire last week in Trinsic wich bernt the Poste bilding down pity that Skeeter woman wasnt in it but they are working again now. A lot of stuff in the Records Office got bernt to like most of the reports but only the last few pages of mine got lost after I got the ash and water of the book I cant remember much of what was in the days that got bernt as nothing much hapened on my shifts exept I herd that drow managed to get Lady VanQa and now no one nows where she is exept maybe her sister can help. The Duke went of to Spiritwood nere Skara more than a week ago to look for a frend of his and he aint come back yet so maybe he is having a beter time there than here I dont blame him for staying. He broght his son Isidore to lern about the city so he can be a good duke and left him here I gess he has a lot to lern and rather him than me. Isidore rekons a lot to himself and is a bit stuk up like he expected evryone to open doors for him and things like that wich isnt like the Duke but maybe he is only trying it on he is only a kid and needs a lot of growing up. He looks a lot like the Duke wich cood be good or bad depending on wich way you look at it. Me and John took him out patroling it was a good thing we never met any thugs I wood not like to tell the Duke his son was in the heelers.

Sunday nite Pierre wasnt around but Aelred and Cutter went of to help the heelers in Minoc exept I think it was Yew they went to this time. Cutter aint been on duty proper for ages something to do with his hat maybe becuse he got told not to wear it but he seems to reely like it I dont now what is up with him. I wasnt on duty till late so I never went this time. It didnt go well as one of the Yew men told them to go away and then atacked them when they woodnt go and there was lots of fiting around there all day as well. Aelred got hit on the head by the Yew man wich made him go dizy sometimes and Kaelyn made him go to the heeler when he come back. He was reely riled up wich aint like him at all he got all anoyed by the Cove people as well becuse they were all geting in the way of the hospital and walking on the bedrolls and stuff he said they was disrispekful.

Nothing els to report from last nite a few drunks in the tavern was singing loud but they shut up and went of when I asked wich Tracy one of the mades there said was a releef as if there was a contest for bad singing no one els wood bother to enter.

Monday morning 2nd Oct.

Bit late with this report sorry. Last Wensday John found another ransum note for the Duke in the jail wich me and him cood not reed but that Countiss Gwyn who I reckon is soft on the Duke as she wont here nothing said against him rekoned she figered it out and it said no more wating we had to pay now. But exept for the Countiss saying we cood sell the Duke's house wich we didnt have time for there was no way we cood get 10 mill as that is what they asked. So me and John and Countiss Gwyn and an old man called Heron or something like that went to see what we cood find and we found the cross road place nere Skara wich used to have a rip *crossed out* repat *crossed out* repy *crossed out* be nown as a bad place in the old lands. There was a man siting on a log witling a bit of wood and first he said he didnt now anything but he was not very clever and we poked him a bit and he told us everything he new. Whoever got the Duke must be reely nasty as he was well scared and peed his pants when we wasnt even doing anything to him. Anyway he said it was a woman who got the Duke and she was a wich and very powerful and she had killed other peple alredy for not doing what she said and she was going to throw the Duke to some wind it sounded like but later we found it was a ship wich I will tell in a bit. The scared man said a lot about snakes holding the Duke and something about a cave wich was what the wich said but he didnt now what it ment. We tryed to make him tell us where he was suposed to take the ransum money but he woodnt and then he took poison or something anyway he fell over ill and died even thogh John tryed to cure him. Just after that some woman came by looking for a friend wich was a pixie and come out of a bush then she turned into a tree wich was kind of strange but she said she didnt now nothing about the dead man nor the Duke but she has to be some sort of wich.

So then we went to Serpents Hold because we rekoned that was where we might find the Duke but we didnt only a man in the tavern told us about some shiprecks and said there was a book about it on the shelf and kept going on about a full moon and high tide on Friday. We didnt have time to look for it then as Gwyn new where there was a cave and went there with Heron then Heron come and asked me and John to go there so we left the tavern and went to this cave. It was full of snakes and a lot of other things like fire elementels and something that was like a red whirlwind and was very strong but the same wich as was at the cross roads was there with her pixie thing following her all over then she started sumoning imps wich the Countiss didnt like. The wich kept hiding and we coodnt follow her easily then the Countiss got nocked down by something I forget what but anyway I took her back to the tavern and John and Heron kept trying to find the wich.

When we got back to the tavern the Countiss sat down to rest and I looked at the shelfs to try and find this book wich I did but only a bit of it as most was mising but it did talk about a ship wich got recked called the Azure Breeze wich was what that man at the cross roads said the wich wood throw the Duke to so iether he is on a ship wich is going to be recked or he is on this ship wich was already recked but iether way he will drown soon. The Countiss woke up and said she new where this place was that the shipreck was at some pillars in the sea not far from Trinsic so I said we needed Iljian to sale there but when we got back to Trinsic he had alredy gone of duty. John and Heron come back and said the wich needed some help to clear the pasage to her land or something wich was the cave with all the snakes and we killed a lot of them so she should be hapy. Then we went back to Trinsic with this book about shiprecks and I went of duty.

Was on leve Thursday. On Friday it was mostly quiet but Iljian and Lance and Cutter sailed of to find the Duke at the place where the Countiss said and they got him back reely easy only a couple of sea serpents in the way and he had been stuck on the recked ship all the time and hadnt seen no one but he wood have drowned soon as the tide was geting hihger ever day. He was well sunburnt and lost a lot of wate and said he never wants to see a raw fish again wich I guess means that was all he et while he was stuck on this shipreck. The Countiss got all fusy over him and mushed up some stuff for his sunburn and took him home so maybe she is rekoning on moving up to Duchess now the Duke is free again and that Lady Seriya seems to have got bored of him as we aint seen her for a long time. Nothing much els to report for Friday.

Saturday got on duty erly and went on the gate with Kamar. He is doing prety well even if it is kind of weerd to have a cat being a guard he shood be promoted to Armsman and I said I wood leve a note on the Captains desk about it. That Claire was round making truble again for a bit and there was some half drow kid hanging round Talon wich Claire didnt like. John come on duty and then they all started talking about drow wich I cant be doing with so I went of patroling. Got round to the south gate and all was quiet so I made for the moongate to check that and the Rose as per standard root but when I got to the moongate there was all these piles of skined animals round it and a load of unded some was skeletens and one raith and a zombie I think anyway I didnt hang around to look that close one said to stay there but I run off and got back to the gate and called everyone to help get rid of them. Kaelyn had got on duty to by then and Talon and Elion come to help as well. The unded things didnt fite fair and kept runing of and hiding and then coming back but we got most of them I think and the rest run of through the gate. Kamar and John got poisoned so we took them to the heeler after we finished braking up the shrine thing but both of them come back on duty later. There was lots of peple coming and going but nothing els importent hapened.

Friday lunchtime 3rd Nov.

Lost my notebook for a bit but found it agen now I rekon someone was winding me up hiding it anyway it was back on the report tabel today. Went to training last nite with the elves and Kaldorians wich was ok Elion split us into 2 teems 1 with a caravan 1 bandits trying to get the packhorses. That Gwen who took over from VanQa picked me and that mad Kaldorian Himasa and we was the bandits it was a bit scary how much Gwen wanted to be a good bandit but I aint going to be a bandit it is to dificult. We didnt do so bad second try Himasa aint bad with that axe for all he talks stupid like he is scared. Kaelyn come to watch neer the end. We had a bit of a problem after that as Elion sent some of the Kaldorians to hide at Yew gate and they got atacked by the guardsmen there so the rest of us went to help. Kaelyn said that any Yew guards in Trinsic before the moot is to be arested so I put a note on the Dukes desk later.

After we finshed training Kaelyn made me dule her wich I wasnt bad but she still won easy really I got to practis more. Then one of them Kaldor mages caled Dolittle chalinged both of us together and got us down prety easy so Himasa joined in with me and Kaelyn and we got Dolittle twice but it wasnt easy he runs fast wich I aint so good at I am better at sneeking round slow and careful. We wasnt a bad teem thogh. Himasa had to go so Mordred joined in insted he got Dolittle down very quick he is a good fiter *few words crossed out* and I woodnt want to fite him but after that I desided to go back on duty.

The Barones and Reann was deeling with prisoners in the jail and Iljian was patroling so I went on the gate as there was only a paladin on duty it was prety quiet. A lady caled Tifa Lockheart wanted to ask about a leese I went to ask the Barones and she said to talk to Kaelyn but wen I got back out Kaelyn was alredy there so she went of to deel with that. Mordred come in with Shelly and an Amazon lady caled Ifito or something like that he asked me to go for a drink with them I dont know why *next line crossed out* Another Kaldorian caled Dimman said I was Trinsic filth and Mordred shoodnt be asking me. The Amazon lady got angry about women being caled filth and went of to fite Dimman up in the woods she beet him and he was a bit quieter after that. I coodnt go for the drink as I was on duty so they all went of to the tavern.

The Barones went home and told me on her way out of town that Iglata got killed by 2 frensed ostards wile Taggart was guarding him wich is a bit suspishous as he cood easily have stoped them I rekon but Reann is looking into it.

Dimman come back drunk and said he left the tavern because Mordred and Shelly were geting it on he tried it on with me and asked wich inn we shood go to but got put of by my warfork wich he nerly walked into I wish he had. Then Mordred and Shelly come back with Ifito and said they was going to visit her iland. Dimman tried to get me in trubel with Mordred but it didnt work. He was lying about Mordred and Shelly to *several words crossed out* Shelly didnt go to the iland she stayed and talked but there aint nothing to report about what we talked about. Mordred and the others come back prety quick and Mordred asked me for a drink agen and he wanted to now wen I was of duty but I was on late so he went home *another line crossed out*

Kaelyn warned me of a drow that was shouting about Loth and atacked Shelly but Shelly is ok we are just to be careful and keep an eye out.

Saturday morning 4th Nov.

Got in town erly and it was prety quiet exept for a lot of strange dogs wich was wondering round. Liana was at the gate she said she seen them to but last time they was there she tried to deel with them but the Barones wasnt intrested so to leve them be wich I did. I went and patroled round the moongate and the Rose but evrywhere was quiet not even any Kaldorians in the Rose only Taggart and Devante and one or to other peple apart from Gwen and Elion. They was saying they rekoned the rebels wood atack them during the Moot but they didnt seme to have no proof of any plans it was just talk.

When I got back to the gate Shelly was there and Kaelyn. Kaelyn said to round up the dogs and get them to the jail sinse they was suspishous and it was a dog that nicked bits of Iglata after he got et by the ostards. Taggart turned up and said it was a lite gray dog but he probly woodnt rekernise it again but we got them all anyway and put them in the big cell upstares I hope I dont have to cleen it. Reann wanted us to see if they smelt of blood but theres no point snifing a dog it only smels of dog so she got a trained dog later to chek them but they was all cleen. We left them in the cell so they didnt get mixed up with any other dogs. Killian the new jailer wasnt very plesed that he had a cell full of dogs but not much I can do about it.

Shelly said there was a big meting for all the Kaldorians wich is why *word crossed out* none of them was around today. I asked why didnt she go she said the metings was always boring wich I beleve her as the Dukes metings can be boring to I hope she is not in trubel for mising it. There will be lots of metings next week for this Moot thing and we are all to work dubel shifts and no leve wich is anoying becuse *few words crossed out* but I gess evryone will be to busy to do other things.

Some woman come in town crying and saying she was muged by some bandits in a camp outside the walls so me and Kiri and Reann and Elion went of to look they tried to ambush us but Kiri did some magic to make us invisebel wich confused them and they run of. I sneeked after them using trees to hide behind and found them easy enogh but then they started hiding as well and Kiri got a scorpion from somewhere and was getting it to track them. In the end we lost them but then there was two men on the road carring axes exactly the same they said they was lumberjacks but Reanns dog and Kiris scorpion both semed to now the sent only that wasnt enogh proof and we had to let them go. We found another camp after that wich wasnt the same ones but we got rid of them anyway they had cort a nobleman who was on his way to Skara so I eskorted him to the moongate and told him to hire a bodyguard next time. Rose was still quiet with even less peple than before and still no Kaldorians it must have been a long meting.

As it was still quiet evrywhere I went of duty erly wich Kaelyn said to do but semes I mised the next bit of exitement I got told this morning that a load of Yew guards tried to sneek through the south gate and atack Kaldorians but they was got rid of prety quick I gess they will think twise next time.

Sunday morning 5th Nov.

Last day of peece yesterday before the Moot starts there will be milions of peple here from today. Not much hapened exept that drow Faeryl got out of jail and banished from town she still rekons shes inocent and dont take any notise of Reann she is totaly mad if she goes on like that but it is her lookout. Later on someone looking like her identicel hair colour and stile and evrything walked in town but it mite not have been anyway we folowed her to the tavern. Clamed to be from Nujelm and caled Francis and how many women with Britanian mans names are there in Nujelm? she was lying for sure but we coodnt do nothing so we didnt chuck her out.

Himasa was sleping in the street outside the jail when I got on duty and snoring louder than an oger I shouted at him and poked him with my foot and shuk him but he woodnt wake up I dont now how he can slepe like that. Shelly come past and said hes always doing it I cut his bandana of and was going to put an orc mask on him and Shelly was going to get some water and throw it on him but then he woke up he was lucky I didnt do nothing else with the dager. He said he wont do it again but he dont want to slepe in the baracks they are smely and he said something about Kai and Comander Soleshadow making strange noises wich scared him but Shelly rekoned he dremed it. Reann come in then and Kaelyn told me to go help her with Faeryl so I never found out no more.

There was this strange man who said he was looking into the Ricardo thing and didnt now he was in Yew he tried to run away when Iljian questoned him so we had to nock him down Shelly and Himasa and Kirtian helped chase him. He rekoned he had permishon to investigate but didnt seme to now about the Duke ither and if the Duke had given him permishon he wood have put a notis up he always does. Kaelyn told me to folow him and make sure he didnt get up to any more mischefe wich he didnt exept he tried to hide in the tavern but Kirtian found him and after that he went away I told him to go look in Yew.

Iljian argued with Kirtian about Iglata being merdered and woodnt shut up when Kaelyn ordered him and stormed of. Later he come back and left me a note to give to the Duke asking for 2 weeks leve wich I give to Kaelyn as she said no leve from today I hope he does not get in to much trubel.

Kaelyn desided to do another drawing leson wich Kiri and Darrick did but Cecil was there and he asked me out to dinner I think as Shelly told him that nowon ever asked me couple of words crossed out. I didnt go and didnt do the drawing there was some wepons in the armoury wich neded sorting so I went of to do that. When I come back Cecil had done a big drawing of me wich he give me I was going to drop it in the mote but Shelly said he was trying to be nice to me and I shood be nice to him so I didnt but I dont now what to do with it. Evrything was quiet after that so I went of duty.

One of the other guards came into the barracks just as she finished writing her notebook, and looked at her pack which she?d dumped on the floor by the desk. ?Hey Nat, what?s that in yer pack? Kaelyn been doing drawing lessons again??

A prominent stick figure resides in the centre of the canvas, with flowing dark golden locks in the form of long squiggly lines. In one hand she holds an unrealistically huge Squiggle, which you may or may not recognise as a large battleaxe.
In the other hand she holds another large scribble, which, if you stared long and hard enough, you might recognise as a large dumbell, possibly made from a heavy log with two pots on either side.
The face is equally obscure. There is a slightly manic grin, along with focussed, determined squiggles as eyes.
Strapped across this figure?s back are a variety of other weapons, including a warhammer, several large swords and what looks suspiciously like a cabbage.
The background consists of a darkened sky with a large lightning bolt striking the ground just a few paces behind her. She is apparently unphased.
In a pained scrawl, with lots of various attempts scribbled out, lies the inscription:

The other guard roared with laughter. ?So what now? He smitten with yer is he??

Natalie shrugged. ?Probly, but who can tell? Few days ago ?e was proposin? ter the Duke on ?is knees in the street, an? ?e ain?t noticed what weapons I use, I never ?eld an axe in me life. ?e asked me ter go ?ave dinner with ?im, seems Shelly told ?im no-one ever takes me out ter dinner.?

He grinned. ?That?s because yer?d never go .. pricklier than a porcupine yer are. Don?t get yer dagger out!? Raising his hands in mock terror he retreated across the room.

?Ah, just shut up will yer?? Muttering to herself, she rolled the canvas up again and walked over to stuff it into the back of her locker well out of sight. It wasn?t Cecil?s attention she wanted, but that was a thought she stopped hastily and went out to the washroom.

Wensday morning erly, 8th Nov.

On Sunday Kaelyn ordered me of to join Pierre doing some investigating of unded things wich I think went alrite and being abel to sneek around come in usful. I have riten a seprate report for it wich is on the Dukes desk. Got back late on Tusday and was put strate on nite duty wich is not so good as I was alredy tired and all we got was drunks all nite and had to drag them back to the in or with the vilent ones put them in a cell to sober up there is still one in cell 7 he shood be alrite by brekfast time. Town is busy with the moot peple so at leest twise as many drunks as ushual and I need to get my uniform cleened now and my armer repared I will drop it of in the armery. Had to brake up one small fite between a bard and 2 drunks who did not like his singing but no big deel they was all to drunk to hit strate. I fined them 200 gold ech and told them all to shut up wich they did thogh the bard was ofended that I did not want to here more of his singing but he sounded like a pig being strangeled maybe he wood be beter if he was sober. At leest there is no big fites going on yet but probly becuse the Yew peple mostly arnt here. There wernt any Kaldorians around ither at leest not that I new to speek to *the end of the sentence is crossed out*

Duty roster says I have the long day shift next 4 days at leest its more normel hours and I will be abel to get a few hours slepe befor the ferst when I have finished riting this. Then Sunday it says I am on leve wich the Duke has sined of but I never asked for it so I aint sure why its there. But I will most likly take it enyway as by then I will need slepe even more than I do now.
