The role of Trinsic Mayor is an important one, supporting and representing the citizens of Trinsic, and acting on their behalf when necessary.

Those wishing to nominate themselves as candidates for this position are asked to write below this notice a public statement of their aims and intentions, should they be elected.

The only requirement for candidacy is that the person must be resident or employed in Trinsic.

On Friday 10th July, all the candidates are asked to be present at the Trinsic Rose Tavern during its normal opening hours (7.30-9.00pm Britannian Standard Time) for a question and answer session, during which each candidate may be questioned regarding his or her statement.

The vote will take place immediately following the question and answer session.

Van Cocidius

I, Lord Deacon van Cocidius III, shall be running for the position of Mayor of Trinsic.

Let's have a look at my current curriculum vitae and why I am the right man for the job. Since a young age, I have been involved in the profession of trade - working for a trading company I was Captain to a ship that carried vasts amounts of goods to various locations. I was also the man who set up the trade, at each port we docked at, I was able to bring fortune to my small home of Galilee. I have also been a bartender at a well known tavern, where my communicating with all sorts of people grew to a natural asset. I'm the sort of man people can relate to, loathe, love. But most importantly, they can approach me. I was elected the Baron of Vesper, a historic position held by some of the greatest leaders of our time. In my time as the Lord Baron, I did some great things - not only dispell war from the borders of Minoc, but community events on a mass scale. The Sosarian Olympics being the most successful. Bringing people from all over Britannia to one place is my speciallity, something that was later proven again in my time as Chancellor of Vesper, with my numerous festivals. My second term leading Vesper was the most productive. A city on it's last legs, people were leaving the City, war was upon us, and despite the dire end to my reign, I paved the road for the glorious path Vesper is now heading down. I changed the whole format of Vesper, turning Baron to Chancellor, making the Republic Official, putting down the ideas for turning the militia into an army.

Before you go thinking, "He was once a Rebel to the Crown, why would he turn Loyalist?" The answer is simple, my job at Vesper was strictly business, never personal. The only acts of personal wants, were the Olympics, and festivals.

Now, if elected as the Mayor of Trinsic, what can I bring to the City?;

Long-term Objectives

• Economy - Trinsic is a financially secure City, that is for sure. But there is no evident source of income, which begs the question what will we do when that money does run out? It's not cheap running a City, paying wages, and generally keeping people happy. Once elected, I would personally go about and set up trade with all the big cities, and small villages, allowing us to make money, buy exotic resources, and overall create better relations with other Cities.
  
• The Council - The Council is the backbone of any City, and Trinsic's has been inactive for a long time and is the only reason for the recent downfall in public activity and income. I will reshape the council, electing my own members from positions I see fit, and from that seed that will symbolise the council, a beautiful Trinsic Rose will bloom from it. The Council will be responcible for discussing public problems, City needs, and future event ideas. From the council, the City will be divided amongst us to make managing it all alot easier. Also, a public notice board will be made available for the people of Trinsic to voice their ideas, or problems, to the council. Also this board will act as a notice place for people to read the minutes and such from a productive Council meeting. It is important for the people's voices to be heard, and the council to act.
  
• Social Development - With other nations mainly. We all get along well in Trinsic, but we've been keeping ourselves to ourselves recently. I will make markets a frequent thing once again. One market per fortnight perhaps. Other social gatherings, such as festivals, celebrations, competitions. We could also host public classes on all sorts of educational subjects. One night we could have someone teach self-defence, how to play the lute, there's plently of choice.
  
• Jobs - Trinsic is one of a few that is a City not purely populated by soldiers. If elected I would give the people of Trinsic purpose in their profession. Their work will be rewarded, and promoted nationwide.

Short-term Objectives

• Law - I will go through the current by-laws of Trinsic and edit them with the Duke how we see fit.
  
• Identify the Citizens Needs - I will talk to the people of Trinsic, I am their representive, I need to know what they're thinking, to voice their thoughts so I can attack them head on. (The thoughts, not the people..)

As Mayor, it is my duty to lead the people of Trinsic as their voice, and we will be heard. Trinsic is a great place to live in, but we can make it better. Trinsic's seen some slow times, and hasn't had a productive Mayor in years, vote for me and that will all prove to change.
