To: someone in charge of the guards, alternatively to whoever rules the town just now.

Dear sir or madam, elected ruler or noble

The valuable attempts of your guards to provide medical services during the battles for Minoc have recieved extensive coverage in the newspapers, thus enabling me to remember this speciality of yours in times of need. The destination of the expedition planned by the University on Monday, the 4th day of December appears to be infested with a selected choice of nasty creatures with no understanding for the necessities of science and exploration.

As organiser of the expedition I cannot justify sending researchers into danger without attempting to provide an adequate medical service for eventual injuries. The reason for my letter is therefore to enquire whether your guards could be hired or borrowed for the night to support the expedition.

Payment, within the limits of the University funds, will of course be provided (if demanded).

I hope for a swift and positive reply.

I will try to send some guards to help you in your expedition, but cannot gurantee any number of guards as we have to keep some at Trinsic for the town's defense.

You can be though rest assured that for exchange of information and letting us know what you find out, that we will send as many able bodied guards with you as we can.

Dear sir,

I am delighted to recieve your response and hope that the safekeeping of your town will still allow for a great number of participants on our expedition.

Rest assured that every participant will find himself at the very center of the research, thus learning about the results and findings first-hand. Once the project is finished, a lecture will take place to present the results to the broad public and reports will be made available for study in our library.

Should your desire for information not be satisfied by this then please seek me out to arrange a talk on the subject.
