Captain,

I was patrolling up past the Tinkers? Guild when I observed a man lying on the ground by the side of the mage shop. When I spoke to him he got up and seemed a bit disorientated but otherwise alright. He said his name was Muldran Skully and he had been chasing someone called Snaeval (description: very dark blue armour, wears blue mask, will claim his face is burned if asked to remove it, hands appear black, maybe gloves, maybe not, Muldran claimed they looked like blackrock but this was from some yards away and may not be reliable). He claimed that Snaeval had killed a guard and he had then attacked Snaeval. But there was no sign of a body where Muldran said it had fallen. A paladin in the vicinity was not aware of any dead guards either.

Muldran claimed that Snaeval had stolen a box from John?s house and he wanted to get it back from Snaeval to keep it somewhere safe as it?s dangerous. He admitted that he had not witnessed the theft and claimed to know it by magical means. He wouldn?t give further details. Snaeval has vanished and the box as well. Part way through the story changed a bit, Muldran said he had made the box vanish as well as attacking Snaeval, though he didn?t know where the box had gone. He was very eager to go off and find Snaeval and the box. Snaeval is apparently very evil.

A passing merchant called Erasmus Darby had not seen anything but said that he had heard what sounded like an argument followed by an explosion. Muldran became very heated about this and claimed that the merchant was actually called Vygorn and had employed Snaeval. He shouted at Erasmus several times and then attacked him with magic fire until I put myself between them. Erasmus was burned around the chest area but well enough to give me a witness statement before going to seek medical help.

Muldran?s magic has also damaged the wall of the Tinkers? Guild and some of the brickwork is loose. I left a warning sign.

I judged that Muldran was not safe to be left roaming around as he seemed rather unbalanced and his story did not make a great deal of sense. He also assaulted one person in front of me and admitted to attacking Snaeval. I therefore put him in one of the cells in the armoury.
