While posted at Trinsic's West Gate yesterday, Miss Natalie told me that she had just completed a patrol at the moongate and that there were undead there. We responded to the moongate to confront this situation. Upon our arrival we found that the undead had built a circle around the moongate. The circle was made up of rotting flesh(possibly human but it was hard to tell), animal skins, the armor of fallen warriors etc. This appeared to be some kind of ritual. I am not sure what this ritual was to accomplish but my guess would be that the undead were trying to open a portal to one of the lower planes and release some undead horror. I found no evidence of blackrock in or around the circle but they might have been carrying it on their person because I didn't not check their corpses after they stopped moving.

Apparently our arrival was unexpected and the ritual had not seen itself to its conclusion because when we began moving the items, thus breaking the circle, the undead attacked. We fought hard against this menace but eventally Kamar and I were knocked out. However with the efforts of the remaining guards(Kaelyn and Natalie) and allies, the undead were driven off. Whether these were the undead of the Xathos Cult which had previously appeared in Trinsic I am not sure.

I spoke with Viper Captain Talon of the Kaldorian army and he told me that the Undead were gathering in numbers. He said that he had followed them after the confrontation at the moongate the day before yesterday and that they seemed to be based in the Yew Graveyard. He told me that they came into Trinsic today looking for a black book. We discussed the possibility that the black book could some how be related to the book that Mr. Callum read out of at the Blackrock meeting several days ago.

We discussed several possible courses of action; the first being to contact Mr. Callum and see if he could shed some light on this mystery. The other being, to contact the Yewish Militia which has previous experience with these undead.

I recommend we keep this report open for further developments.
