Away - Mesh suck

It's my birthday again, and just like my birthday last year my computer has somehow died, and again at the moment i have no idea what it is.

For the last month it has been restarting itself randomly, at first it was every few days, but in the last couple of days it became every 30 minutes or so.
This evening though it turned itself off and didn't come back on again, now when i plug it in all i get is the whirling sound of the fans.

So tomorrow if i can find the time i'll try another new hard drive, failing that i really haven't got a clue.

SO you dont get any thing on screen? No dos messages or anything like that? No output whatsoever? Can you see the fan of the power supply unit working? Feed me some info and Ill see if I can help.

Sometimes this can be caused by a broken graphics card - have you got an onboiard one you could try and use or an old one you could try and install and then reboot to see if you get any output?

To replace a PSU is pretty easy and costs between £40 and £60.

I doubt its the hard drive if you dont even get any output onto screen as the initial boot is from BIOS on the mobo.

So its either psu, graphics card or a mobo problem I reckon.

Theres no output what so ever, nothing comes up on the monitor, when i start up the only thing i can see working is the two fans. none of the drives are running, it runs for about 30 seconds before it turns itself off. I like a mystery but this takes the piss
The only other clue i have is last week when i sent an error report it told me it was possibly a device driver fault, which makes me think it might well be the graphics card, i haven't got an old one i can try though.

I'm tempted to just buy a whole new pc really, i've had this one over 4 years now so it's about time. I just need to convince the little lady, she did spend over £2,000 on her wedding dress after all, so it's only fair i guess :P
I need someting soon, using the nintendo wii internet just takes so long

Sorry about the computer, won't offer help as I have no clue about these things, but I hope you get it fixed soon or get a new one instead. Happy birthday anyway

Okay i've gone and ordered a nice new shiney pc, rather than dick around with my old one. Theres nothing better than taking a fresh pc out of the box and starting all over again.
The bad news is it will take up to 21 days for them to build and deliver the thing.

Callum, it's already plugged into the onboard graphics, i've never had any fancy super card.
