Well, I gave it a go friday night.. And returned it to the shop yesterday XD

Im still confident that a gamingtype keyboard like that is the way to go, but the MERC simply didnt cut it for several reasons..

1. The buttons on the gamingpad are a tad to big.. Or well, the WSAD keys are.. Too easy to hit both the D and E key at the same time, which is kinda bad (i use QER for the most used spells/macros). The Jump key and the extre ones for the thumb are imba tho !
2. The layout on the rest of the buttons was mainly fine, but again, being used to a normal keyboard it meant that tey felt kinda awkward aswell.. Not the same click in the buttons so to speak, and it made it hard to instinctively feel if you actually had pressed button..
3. Biggest problem is that the keys on the gamingside is actually just "extra" keys that corresponds to different keys on the normal keyboard.. Makes it a hassle to set it up, since you probably want to center your spells/abilities in places that are quick to reach and intuitive.. And that basically means that you have to do a totally new keymap for the whole ui.. Buttons like M, O, F and so on were placed on the gamingside to be great to use for panicbuttons for stuff you dont use all the time but are vital in certain situations (like long cd stuff etc).. And well, we all know what for example M does in the game.. For me esp M and F is something i have used since day one in the game, and very hard to get out of old habits..
4. It just, well, felt wierd.. Training, training, training.. Something i dont really have time for now when i finally feel that the pvp-skills are getting to where i want it to be.. I dont wanna get set back in my noobish skills.. :P

Good points..
1. The general layout of the buttons was great.. As said above, i especially liked the extra buttons for the thumb-position..

What woulda made me keep it..
1. If buttons on the gamingside had been "new ones" that you could map to the keybinds.. Only real downside..

Mate, you might want to check out the one I have been using since WoW began pretty much. Bought it for 3 times the price than now advertised since I had to get one of the Ozzy TOG guys to import it direct from Oz. He bought a batch of 50 or so for TOGgers who wanted one. This was back when they didn't have representation in UK.

It was built on a design by gamers, for gamers and was the only one of it's kind. Now 2 years on and the design is patented and from what I hear they have a new version of the board out. Mine still works as well as it did 2 years ago, the jump button and thumb <, >, B, O, and the K, voice comms button are getting a little faded but the rest are still as good as the day it arrived in the post.

Do yourself a favour before you buy anything and read the full review.

ONLY READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MY SETUP:

The only keys I use with any regularity are WASD obviously binding A, D, to strafe instead of turn. Then with my MX Laser mouse having 7 keys also I bind the following to action bar 1 buttons 1-12:
Q = 1
E = 2
F = 3
Laser scroll up = 4
Laser scroll down = 5
Laser flip window button = 6
Laser tilt left = 7
Laser tilt right = 8
< = 9
> = 10
B = 11
O = 12

Laser Page up (side forward button) is configuered to +shift
Laser Page down (side backward button) is configuered to +Ctrl

Bartender addon swaps in bar 2 on shift and bar 3 on ctrl presses. Bar 2 (forward thumb press) offensive secondary abilities. Bar 3 (backward thumb press) defensive secondary abililites.

I do use various other buttons for daft things like eat and drink macros, fear and bandage, weapons sheathe, walk/run toggle but nothing of great importance. AND K of course for all that yabbering I do on vent and TS haha.

Total keybindings = 36

Hehe, the Wolfclaw is actually my first choise, but since it is like 3-4 times more expensive than this one i tried i went for this instead..

So, maybe daddy gets a nice x-mas present this year XD
