1) Public endangerment

A direct and planned assault on a citizen of Vesper. 1000 Gold & Jail 30 min

3) Slave trading
Slave trading is strictly prohibited within the borders of Vesper. Bringing slaves here alone is a crime already and so is trading with slaves. 1000 Gold & Jail 30 min

4) Distribution of illegal substances
Dealing with drugs, explosives or other potentially dangerous substances is a major crime withing the borders of Vesper. 1000 Gold & Jail 30 min

5) Spying
Anyone except an official member of the militia caught sneaking around Vesper is a potential spy for foreign powers. 1000 Gold & Jail 30 min

6) Kidnapping
The kidnapping of Vesperian citizens will not be taken lightly. 1000 Gold & Jail 30 min

7) Manslaughter
In cases where a person dies by the fault of another one and the healers and priests are unable to save his/her live but the attacker did act in self defence. 1200 Gold & Jail 45 min

8) Attempted Murder
Major assault on a citizen of Vesper with the clear goal to kill him.2000 Gold & 1 hour Jail

9) Murder
Murders are brought before a public court in Vesper. If they fail to prove their innocence or can name good reasons for their deeds it results in a death sentence.

10) Treason against Vesper
Murders are brought before a public court in Vesper. If they fail to prove their innocence or can name good reasons for their deeds it results in either a very long time in jail, banishment from Vesper or even a death sentence in major cases.

If someone refuses or can't pay the fine, put him into jail for 15 mins or add another 15 mins to his prison time if it was a major crime.


Forbidden races within Vesper

Drows, Orcs, Undead, Lizard-like or any non-humanoid creature. If a forbidden race should ever enter Vesper it should immediately be escorted outside of the towns borderlines and warned never to return, if the creature resists any means necessary can be used to drive the creature from Vesperian lands. Any exceptions will be officially put on a list in the guard barracks.

Trials

The defendant faces the appointed judge in an open court. The people usually leading the trial are either the Baron, Mayor or Captain of Vesper. The defendant may choose to plead his case himself or hire an attorney to handle it for him. The Defendant gets a set amount of time to convince the judge of his innocence or the reasons behind his actions, then the judgement will be announced.


Warrants

Arrest and search warrants can be applied for at the captain’s office, a search warrant grants the holding guardsmen permission to search the specified establishment within the Vesperian republic and an arrest warrant grants the holders permission to arrest the specified suspect anywhere within Vesperian territory.
