I just downloaded UOKR and looked at it. It was ghastly! The paperdolls look ugly as can be, the avatar for females looks like a hunchback when she's walking, the clothes are all wrong and horrible. There is NO difference between a doublet and a fancy shirt, the doublet is on the wrong layer and the dresses just look terrible. Sitting in chairs of any sort looks terrible, walking looks terrible, running looks terrible, all sorts of art problems all over the place in Swaggers. I didn't even know that the picture was a remade dart board until I saw it in UOKR(showed up as a dart board).

But it is ugly ugly ugly ugly ugly! And containers! UO containers were so nice! What idiot came up with the way they're doing it now??

Is THIS really what people want in a game? I can honestly say I can't stand to look at the game through UO:KR. If they drop the legacy client, they've dropped me as a customer for sure. Why don't they just find out who they paid to do the original client art and go back and hire them again! The legacy client is great if you ask me and always has been. Most other so called modern games look like trash and don't work near as nice as UO. Does someone really have a difficult time with the way containers work in UO that they give us this braindead method of dealing with containers? Ick!

And please, don't say it's beta, this is so ugly, so stupid, so condescending in it's very concept, I don't care if it's alpha, it needs to be thrown out and started ALL OVER, but it needs to be thrown out!

Containers have a little button that allows you to flip between symbols, list and classic "mess".

Your logic is undeniable.
They should stick with anachronistic mid-1990's artwork, because stagnation sells games.
So, it's not perfect.
That's what the "Bug Report" feature's for.

If there is a genuine problem with the client, outside of personal preference, then give constructive criticism.
"OMGOMG It's soooo ugly!" is not constructive criticism, and will not contribute anything, to anything.

For visual appearance; beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I can't even believe anyone doesn't like the "classic mess" and prefers the mini-box method of containers. With the "classic mess" I can really organize my containers nice, overlaying things as necessary, etc. I am glad at least there is an option somewhere to use the old style containers.

But aesthetically? Just about everything in the world is worse off than it was in the 2d client. The 2d client may be old, but is much better looking by far. I've seen some of those 3d games out there, and they are pretty ugly if you ask me. 3d only starts to get good when you get to the level of detail that exists in Oblivion or SWG, and then wow does it look good. But short of that kind of quality, I don't think using 3d is visually appealing in many games and should be avoided if you already have invested the money in something that actually looks nice. Sure, it's a good cheap way of making a new game(yes, CHEAP, 3d is easier to work with than 2d if you do it sloppy like EA has). But OSI already invested the start up money years and years ago into doing a GOOD 2d client, why replace it with an ugly typical 3d client? If you just have to have 3d, bite the bullet and make it an Oblivion class client. But for heaven's sake, find someone who knows how people walk.

It is beyond simply bug report bad though. It is throw the baby out with the bath water and hop into bed again and hope for better bad! What actually looks better than it did in the 2d client? Nothing so far as I could tell, nothing at all. If I thought bug reports could fix that ugly mess then I would give them. But I can't even stand to run it, and that is the biggest bug of all. Sue me for having eyes.

That's becuase if you look behind the picture on the fireplace you can see there's a dart board placed behind the picture to make it look like your throwing darts at teh picture rather then the dart board.. I guess KR made it so the dartboard sets on top...

Sure about that Adelle? I thought they just added a dart board script to a picture object to be honest, or changed the dart board graphic to a picture graphic and renamed it. I'll try to click and drag the picture away though in the 2d one to see if I can get a glimpse of the dart board behind it.

guys relax its still under construction. Although they released kr its still unofficially under beta. If you want the containers changed do what i did. Report it. I did but they will work on it promptly only if they see many ppl reporting it. As for running and all....One thing i can say: Report like u never reported before, but as kimi said, be constructive. Be detailed. Make sure what u write makes sense. thnx

I detest it. Sorry, nothing constructive to offer about it. It would be like trying to be constructive with .... well, let's just say babies are usually the only ones that are constructive with that kind of thing and let it go at that okay?

Third 3d client for UO and after seeing this one I'm convinced nobody will ever do one right. So I'd honestly prefer they stop trying.

On the other hand, if talking about/venting about this sort of thing is against board protocol I'll invite whoever the moderator is to delete the thread. Otherwise I've no problem having said a word I've spoken.
